Offering views of Los Angeles, Calif., Loews Hollywood Hotel is part of the famous Hollywood and Highland entertainment complex, near upscale stores, restaurants, movie theaters, and the Kodak Theater, home of the Academy Awards. A Hollywood Hills park with a jogging and walking path is less than one mile (1.6 kilometers) from the hotel, as is the Hollywood Bowl.

This 20-story hotel offers a rooftop outdoor pool overlooking the entertainment complex. Preston's restaurant showcases eclectic California cuisine. A 24-hour fitness facility complete with cardiovascular equipment, weight machines, towels and fresh water is provided by the hotel. The property showcases 65,000 square feet (6,039 square meters) of meeting space, 24-hour business center, garage parking (surcharge), and wireless Internet access.

Loews Hollywood Hotel's 632 guest rooms are splashed with color, where contemporary works of art complement contemporary décor. Room amenities include satellite television and high-speed wired and wireless Internet access (surcharges). Coffeemakers and minibars are provided in each room. Couldn't be more pleased with choosing this hotel for staying within Hollywood area. The hotel connects to the Hollywood & Highland mall area, so it was easy to walk through that door every day rather than through the main lobby entrance (it was better view and it was closer to getting to the Metro). "Quick family getaway"
The location of the hotel is prime. We upgraded out room to a suite at a great price. The suite was huge, luxurious and comfortable. Although the initial suite we were given had a small blood stain on a pillow case and it didn't seem like housecleaning cleaned the bathroom. We called the front desk to change the bed sheeting and tidy up the bathroom, […] but they apologized and gave us a new suite and a breakfast buffet credit. "Good Location, self parking is not convenient"

It is an upscale hotel with a decent lobby to have a drink in and nice rooms. It is right next to a high end mall with nice shops and restaurants. That is about as much as I can say that is positive. We had a family of 4 staying in the room and they kept putting only 3 towels in the bathroom. I had to ask for more each day. The restaurant is very pricey […] for breakfast. The neighborhood is terrible with bums urinating outside the hotel and street people fighting and aggressively panhandling every 10 feet. We loved our stay! All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our only bad part was the Air Condition didn't seem to cool like we like it at home. We did get it serviced and the air worked. "Hollywood Renaissance - Great place to be!"
I stayed at the Renaissance with my 3 teenagers because it was close to Universal Studios and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. What I didn't realize was that there was an Outdoor Shopping Mall accessible directly from our hotel and included stores, eateries and even a movie theater. My kids thought this was the best thing ever! The location was perfect for […] visiting places such as the Chinese and Kodak Theaters, the wax museum and the walk of Fame. The area itself is questionable at night, but hotel security was awesome which set my mind at ease. We had a rental car and paid for valet parking with in and out service, but hardly used the car during our stay. The concierge told us we could take the subway to Universal Studios and this saved on driving and extra parking fees. The pool area is located on a rooftop over a lower section of the building and the view is spectacular. Next to the pool area, there are private seating areas with couches, chairs or tables under cabanas where you can sit back and relax if you prefer to be out of the sun but still outdoors. The exercise room has all the necessary equipment and even an outdoor space if you prefer to lift weights outdoors.
