Location is good for Hollywood sight-seeing, and it seemed clean. The building is cement, the rooms are un-carpeted, and there is very poor sound separation; you can easily hear normal conversations in the next room and in the hallway. "Hotel With No Amenities"
I reserved three hotel rooms in May 2012 for five nights each for our first stay in California. We were attending a wedding in October 2012. In May on the website it was mentioned that renovations were taking place. We found that the renovations were not complete even after the five months. The only positive comment would be that the staff was very […] nice and the beds were new and comfortable. The tub had mildew stains around the caulking, the entire room was very dark and to put on makeup required a lighted mirror. The only ice machine was on the second floor, the only drink machine was outside the building where the elevators were also and there were no snack machines of any kind. The baseboards were missing in the rooms and the room numbers were put on with what looked like adhesive tape. To print out boarding passes you had to email the hotel and the lady at the desk would print them out. There were no amenities to speak of.... This hotel was the worse one we stayed at during our trip. The rooms were torn apart with duct tape everywhere, the rooms smelled and the night staff was very rude!! There was not enough table or counter space. It was difficult for two to use the sink and area outside the bathroom. The staff failed to make up the room twice during a 7 night stay. "BLVD Hotel and Spal - Studio City"
I booked this hotel the day before my boyfriend and I were leaving for our weekend in Los Angeles. We arrived at the hotel around 1230 thinking that we would not be able to check in yet so we were just going to leave our bags at the front desk and come back when it was time for check-in. I was surprised to find out that our room was ready and we could […] check in right away. Check in was really quick and easy. Since our room was already paid for in full, I just had to give them a 120 dollar deposit on my credit card for incidentals. Parking was 15 dollars per day. The room was really nice and clean. The bed was extremely comfy and there was plenty of storage for clothes. The service is great and you can't beat the location. The hotel is 1 minute off of the freeway in either direction. The negatives I would say about this place is that if you have an iPad that you cannot gain access to the free wi-fi. The iPad has issues finding the network for some reason. My boyfriend was able to connect using his laptop though so no worries there. The other negative is that there's not a refrigerator in the room so if you're like me and you usually have leftovers after eating out, there's nowhere to store it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay close to LA without actually staying in LA. We went to a game at Staples, spent some time in Hollywood and Santa Monica, and went to Magic Mountain with ease from this place. I will be staying here again for sure.
