"At 1/2 the price would have been a good 3 star"
The hotel probably was a very nice 5 star hotel 30 years ago, but it has not been maintained properly. Hotels.com should downgrade the star rating on objective measures such as no concierge, no valet and no turn down service, not to mention mold in the showers, broken windows in the breakfast area, stinky pool area, and general need for paint and repairs. "Great Location - Shame about the smell..."
A fabulous building in a great location next to the New Mosque, spice bazaar and 2 minutes walk from the tram. Unfortunately, despite this and fantastic looking rooms and lobby, the cleanliness and upkeep is apalling. In our first room, the smell of stagnant water from the bathroom and air conditioning was unbearable. In the second room (after moving […] due to the smell), the water from the tap and bath was visibly green showing why bathplugs are not standard issue in this hotel. I would definitely not recommend this hotel unless they do some serious work on their water supply and drainage system. Staff were also not particularly swift when it came to assisting, and certainly were not up to the standard you would expect from a 5 star. If you are staying at this hotel, also be prepared to walk for a good 5 minutes on arrival as the taxi probably won't be able to drive in front of the hotel and you will be dropped at the end of the road. Hotel kamers zijn gedateerd, airco is niet in te stellen en geeft alleen warme lucht. Door de hitte is er slecht geslapen. Bad kamer heeft schimmel en de afvoer stinkt, er is door personeel een pedaal emmer opgezet met de hoop dat de stank minder wordt wat uiteraard niet helpt. Bij aankomst is er verzocht om een tweepersoons bed en alleen twin bed geleverd, […] receptionist was niet van plan om de kamer om te ruilen naar tweepersoons bed. Kyseessä ei ole laisinkaan 5 tähden hotelli. Aamupala oli lähinnä kammottava, vastapuristettu appelsiinimehukin lisämaksusta. Kahvi juomakelvotonta, vihreä salatti paleltunut jääkuutioille. Halvat, suolaiset juustot, koiramakkaraksi sopivat lihatuotteet. Kammottava putkistosta tuleva raadon haju sekä huoneen wc-ssä että kylpylän suihkussa. Kylpylän […] wc-ssa ei paperia, jonka huomasin liian myöhään.Suihkut rikki.30.04 aamuna ilmoitettiin että pyyhkeitä ei vaan ole! "Finn et annet hotel"
Leter du etter et hotel som er i Agata Christies bøker er du kommet riktig. Uten tvil et bra hotel for 100 år siden. I dag er det vel en fornærmelse mot andre hoteller som har 3 stjerner eller mer å kalle dette 5 stjerner. Det lekket fra taket når det regnet, det var lekkasje i rørsystemet som gjorde teppegulvet på rommet vått og en stank av mugg i […] rommet. På tross av klager flere dager skjedde ingen ting borsett av at de spryet med luftrenser. Gulvet var like vått.
