The regular suite is small but comfortable; however, the bathroom is incredibly cramped. The best feature of the hotel is the daily breakfast in the rooftop cafe, with an impressive view of the neighborhood and the Bosphoros.

We had a wonderful time in the hotel, all the staff was gracious and kind. It is approximately three blocks from the F1 Tram Stop that will take you to all the sites. Or you can walk, it will take about 15 minutes. The buffet breakfast was filling and the balcony had wonderful views.

Another couple and my husband and I stayed at Hotel Niles from 9-12 November. The interior of the hotel is very charming and very "istanbul", not tacky and "90's" modern like many other hotel front desk areas. The six of us all enjoyed our stay at Niles very much! The staff were extremely helpful, besides helping us with orientations in the city(which can be really confusing!), they even helped us making reservations at restaurants and planning trips! I spent three nights in Niles Hotel in June 2012. The location of the hotel is great. It is 3 minutes walk to the Tram that takes you almost everywhere. The staff is one of the biggest assest of this hotel. Breakfast on the roof-top was great. This hotel has a nice small gym. Unfortunately, I did not learn about it until the last day.

Great location--easy walk down to the historic sites (Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, etc.). The staff is very friendly and very helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations, etc. The rooms are small but very clean, simple and comfortable. The location is very good, just 200mts from Beyasit tramway station, 5min from Grand Bazaar and 10min from BlueMosque/HagaSophia. Couple of convenience stores only at 200mts and restaurants within 5min walk (even a Burger King, in case you are a lousy native of the US that cannot adapt to loacl habits and survives only with nothing but your crappy regular […] habits). It's worth mentioning the staff, always in a great mood to answer your questions, give advice, etc. The reception has a computer with web access also very useful. They sent me a huge cab to pick up at airport for euro25 and euro 20 to get back (almost same price as a regular street cab). I usually like to support family owned businesses and pick small, intimate hotels to stay in. This, and the hotel description and pictures presented on Expedia, made the Niles seems like a good fit. However, the location is off the main road and on an extremely cramped, noisy and dirty street. My room was on the second floor which was really the first […] floor and was right on the side walk and very noisy. The hotel is very old and although the reception area is small, it's authentic and clean. The rest of the hotel needs a serious update. My room was cramped, bathroom was tiny, wallpaper in bad condition, tv not working, some lights not working, no kleenex in the room. The roof top area where breakfast was served looked deceiving in the picture. The view they show is if you are standing and maybe from a table or two if you are sitting. The included breakfast was good and they had beautiful birds in cages that provided lovely singing and chirping. The staff were pleasant and helpful, however I found it difficult to communicate with one of the front desk employees and got a bit frustrated. I believe that the front desk staff need to speak good, clear English. Overall the hotel was not bad, but I would not recommend it. There are so many hotels to choose from that I would not pick one in the side streets. If I go back, I would pick one on Ordu, which is the main road in that area. Niles might be a good fit for other travelers, but unfortunately it was not for me. Read more

The room we had originally reserved was *very* small and really not big enough for two people, not to mention luggage, etc. The A/C was not working and the system that allows the lights to come on using the room key was also not working properly. The newer rooms are *amazing*! Please note that this review is for one of the newer rooms and not the original booking. The new rooms are exceptionally clean, spacious, comfortable (bed a little hard), and include great amenities like an actual Turkish bath-style bathroom (Which we had to learn about to fully appreciate!). The rooftop area of the hotel is great, with a superb breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.
