We usually vouch for very modern-style hotels and thought this would be the same. However, when we arrived we were told that the hotel was very busy and... so we had been upgraded to the King Suite, which was a typical old-style hotel room complete with mahogany furniture, statuettes and chandeliers. The upgraded suite was wonderful, and included an in-room jacuzzi as well as a small balcony overlooking the city. The staff were kind and helpful during our stay, giving us advice on where to go, what to see and how to avoid being ripped off by taxi drivers! The hotel overall was nice - great breakfast - but we had a horrible view of the back of an apartment complex that looked like it was about to be demolished. At check-in, they gave us a room with twin beds when we requested a king and they would not accommodate us otherwise. The location was nice and the neighborhood quiet. Staff was not overly friendly […] - bar was not well stocked and they could not make most of the drinks we wanted. If you're looking to spend MOST of your time sight-seeing and very little time SLEEPING, then this is a nice hotel but if you want to spend any time in the hotel, you'll be bored and uncomfortable in your twin beds! Also no english speaking channels on the tele except CNN. Read more
