"Tiny Rooms with Big Heart Staff!"
My reservation was for an executive room; but when I arrived, I was given a tiny twin-bed regular room. When I told them that my reservation was for a king-size executive room with a chance of an upgrade - since I have an Elite Plus membership with Expedia through which I made my reservation - they moved me to another tiny king-size regular room. Finally, […] after going back and forth, they confirmed that my reservation was indeed for an executive room, they moved me to another tiny king size executive room with no bath (just a shower) and no upgrade! The room was very hot! They resolved this issue by bringing me a fan. So, I kept the AC off, the window open and fan on! What made my short stay "Pleasing" was the Hotel Staff! "A nice place for business travelers"
The hotel is modern and luxurious, but the location is not the best specially if you intend to visit the Golden Horn, the Bosphore, or Marmara sea. Some issues with the restroom and the bed linen. "Very good overall experience"
Good hotel with good sized rooms. Only problems were: the ac was useless making the room far too hot. We had to open the window which can be a problem with a child in the room. The minibar fridge was also faulty and not cooling. These problems were reported but not resolved. The staff were very friendly. "Above Average Hotel in a Perfect City !!"
Overall, the hotel was good. Located like 500m from the Metro station, but if it is windy + raining, you will go under rain showers (so shopping will not be a leisure unless you used taxis). Receptionists were not all good (some had problems in language, and some had problems in dealing with people in fact !!). Breakfast was above average, didn't like […] though that omlettes and scrambled eggs weren't served directly (you have to ask the waiter for them). Pool & Gym were fine, but don't forget your hair cap or you will need to buy one :). Room was fine, but the TV only provided Turkish speaking channels, except for one news channel that I was watching because it was English. Toilets, safe and some furniture were bit old, but nice and usable so no problem with them. Finally, if you are off to Istanbul for shopping/tourism, the area of this hotel is not the best one for you (it's not near from touristic areas), however, overall it was fine for me because of my business trip and the metro made accessing everywhere easy (as long as the weather was fine). The Hotel was clean and tidy, It hink it is mainly for Business Travellers but the staff was always smiling and pleasent to the children. We did have a problem one day with the condition of the bath water due to maintenace work but the reception tried to pass it off that the water in Istanbul sometimes gives them a problem. "Not a 5* hotel for sure."
This hotel is wrongly classified as being a 5* one. Although rooms are clean, they are old and in horrible colours, they have wallpaper everywhere and it's stained. No complimentary coffee and tea in the room unless you specifically request them...what kind of complimentary service is that? Either you offer it to the guest or you don't. You don't ask […] the guest to request it! and the lighting in the room is very bad. Not enough light definitelly. The net works so and so, The air conditioning works horribly. I was given a smoking room, although I always mark non-smoking. Never stayed in one, but it is horrible. Took it because initially was told no non-smoking room available. After two hours and a phone-call one was available, which found very weird. Oh, the elevators look old as well. It needs a change this hotel. Otherwise, the staff are very nice. "Good value but not 5 star hotel"
This is a good and very clean hotel ideal for business travellers. The rooms are large if dark and free internet access is welcomed. The location is not ideal for the tourist especially if on a short weekend break as you will need to use taxis to get to the metro or Bosphorus. Sehr gutes Hotel, das Personal ist absolut freundlich. Das Frühstücksbüffee ist reichhaltig -- hier findet wirklich jeder etwas. Nur könnte das Personal an der Rezeption etwas informierter über die nähere Umgebung in Istanbul sein. Wir haben mehrmals nachgefragt, wie man zu relativ bekannten Plätzen kommt und haben nur verwirrende bzw. falsche Auskünfte […] bekommen. Schade eigentlich. "Das Dedeman Istanbul liegt etwas außerhalb der touristischen Sehenswürdigkeiten."
Das Hotel liegt in einem Banken- und Geschäftsviertel, die Erreichbarkeit ist mit der Metro (Station Gayrettepe) in ca. 10 Gehminuten ganz gut, nebenan sind ein paar nette Lokale und ein Supermarkt. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichhaltig und lecker, das Personal freundlich. Ein paar Unannehmlichkeiten des Hotelzimmers (Motor-Defekt des Safes, rauschende […] Toilettenspülung und Abwassergeruch v.a. im Bad) wurden prompt beseitigt. Die Sauna ist sehr groß, eingebrannte Schrauben der Holzbänke wirken etwas abstoßend, ansonsten sauberer Spa-Bereich. Aus hygienischen Gründen wird das Tragen einer Badekappe im Schwimmbecken vorgeschrieben. Von der Rooftop-Bar hat man einen schönen Blick über die Stadt und den Bosporus. "7 Nächte am Rande Istanbuls als Rentner-Touristen"
Als notorische Rucksackreisende (auch noch im Ruhestand) hätte uns durchaus ein einfacheres Hotel genügt. Selten haben wir so viel nutzlos herumstehendes Personal gesehen. Wer es nicht gewöhnt ist, dem geht das unterwürfige Herumgedienere ziemlich auf die Nerven. Aber das ist natürlich eine reine Geschmackssache. Die Lage des Hotels ist für jemanden, […] der Istanbul erkunden will, ziemlich abseits. Wir nutzten die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel zum Weg ins Zentrum. Für empfindliche Naturen ist das wegen des Gedränges in Bus, U-Bahn und Straßenbahn aber eher nicht zu empfehlen. Zu den Stoßzeiten steht der Verkehr gerade auch vor dem Hotel komplett, so dass auch ein Taxi keine Alternative ist. In der unmittelbarenUmgebung gibt es außer Schnellstraßen und Bürogebäuden, sowie einigen her untypischen Restaurants nichts zu entdecken. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist auf den ersten Blick äußerst üppig. Wer jedoch nicht auf Geflügelwurst, roten Würstchen, gekochter Paprika,Tomatensuppe, harten Eiern, Müsli und Obst in jeder Variation steht (so wie meine Frau, die begeistert war), der landet jeden Morgen beim Käsebrötchen.
