This place is really new and modern looking. Patong beach is like two blocks away and the bar scene starts right when you walk outside the resort. "Cutting edge style, but extras were very expensive"
The rooms, decor and electronic integration of services and basic functions are great. The drawback is that drinks are ridiculously expensive if you want to enjoy hanging out at the hotel. I live in Chicago in the US, and I do not pay that much here! A cocktail was $10 in this hotel. We are talking about Thailand, where I was used to getting beers for […] $1 or less and cocktails for slightly more. This hotel is definitely created for a younger crowd (like me, 31) that appreciates the technological advancements built into every aspect of this hotel and wants to be steps from the party strip. You get two free Chang beers in your fridge, but you better drink them in the room. I tried to bring one to the rooftop lounge and was asked to pay for using the area even though the hotel gave me the beer. When I said that "you gave me the beer, I paid for the room and should be able to drink it here...." I was escorted out of the lounge. Seriously? "Great location and hotel"
I stayed in the deluxe pool access room, large king size bed modern and clean room. There is a bar in the pool which is easy to get to from your balcony. The hotel is situated pretty much parallel to bangla road and is about a 100m walk to the closest bar anyway. Excellent hotel with friendly staff and in a brilliant location. I stayed in a pool view room which was fantastic. I saw the honeymoon suite rooms and would not recommend these as they have no view, are dark and not set out very well. They do have a spa however. There is a charge of 1000 Baht for bringing a "guest" back to your room which is a bit steep, but they do record all details so you are always safe. Its there right next to Bangla Road, busiest nightlife area of Patong beach. Also close to the beach and Kee Plaza for some shopping, but Jungceylon is just at the end of bangla road and provides much better shopping places.
