    Find a good hotel in Chiang Mai is hard, but the Shangri-La is a real diamond. It is in a superb location, only minutes from the Night Bazaar and short... tuk tuk ride to the restaurants on the Ping River. Hotel is just beautiful and so grand. If you can afford the extra luxury, choose the horizon club rooms. Staff are superb (and helped make recommendations on tours) and free cocktails and canapés in the evening are a must! Pool and jacuzzi area are very big and you have to try the Chi spa foot massage. Heaven! by Sam  from London on 04/02/13

    Located in Chiang Mai (Chang Khlan), Shangri-La Hotel Chiang Mai is close to Wiang Kum Kam, Chiang Mai City Arts & Cultural Center, and Wat Chiang Man. Also nearby are Tha Phae Gate and Warorot Market.

    I read all of the reviews before booking and feel like I stayed in a completely different hotel than the one described. On the upside, the location is fantastic and the rooms are large. But the rooms are very dull in decor compared to other 4 and 5 stars in Thailand. More importantly, the service was absolutely atrocious. One both days, they failed […] to make up my room by 5pm, when I finally called down to the desk. Then on the second day, they took the bedspread away and just never brought it back. Despite 2 calls to ask for some covers....nothing! When I mentioned it at checkout, I got a (friendly) shrug! The gym is quite nice though unlike most other 4/5 stars, there are no personal TV's...only very loud disco. The pool area is nice, though some chunks of the grounds seem abandoned...water features drained etc. On the whole, in our 3 weeks of travel, we stayed in significantly better 4 or 5 star hotels for much less, with much better service, and better amenities/ Read more

    The hotel is just on the tail end of the night market a short walk from the old city. Our 9th floor room gave us a great view of the mountains. Staff were helpful and friendly. Thev spa was fantastic

    We went to the Shangri-La for a day of relaxation I our busy vacation schedule. This hotel Is located within walking distance of the night bazaar and 5 min from Central Airport Plaza. Staff is very nice and rooms, restaurants and pool area is great. The Chi spa is one of Chiang Mai's best, we had the 2 hr treatment. Recommended !
