The best thing about this hotel is that the location is close to the beach. You pretty much just cross the street, walk 100 yards, and you are on the beach. There isn't very good shopping in Kata but you can go up to Karon or Patong for that. The hotel staff was very nice and willing to help in any way. Most of the staff spoke decent English but there […] were a few people who hardly spoke any at all. My only complaints were that there was no hot water for showers. It was luke warm, but definitely not hot. Also, my room's balcony faced the street and you could hear noise all night long; there was always music playing on the street. I stayed in room 3112, so maybe it was just were my room was located in the hotel. The breakfast was worth paying the few extra dollars. Overall, this was a great place to stay. It is super close to the beach and it was clean; I never saw any cockroaches or any bugs in my room. For the price and location, this was an excellent place to stay. Read more

It takes about 45 minutes from the airport to Sugar Palm Resort.If you want a happening Phuket, you should consider Patong Beach area.This resort located in a beautiful white sand beach which is across the street Kata Beach.It will take you about 15 minutes to get to Patong Beach and will cost you about 400 bhat.If you are a surfer, you will enjoy the […] beach here.Breakfast is not our favorite at all. It's totally not worth it to pay 350 bhat for the breakfast.We enjoyed 7-11 around the corner for breakfast.You can easily get anything from here and bring it to the beach and have a mini picnic! The room was spacious and clean.The bedsheets and pillows were comfortable.Our towels and sheets were changed on a daily basis.Unfortunately,we didn't have much time to spend on the balcony.But it has a great view to the pool and that's pretty much your scene. We didn't manage to use the pool facilities though.The opening hours for spa was confusing and they closed early.Even though they provide computers for you to use,they were really hopeless.The room wi-fi works well with our smartphones.Thus, I think there was something wrong with the computers in the lobby.I must say that even though the elevator has a stinky smell, it was used to prevent mosquitoes.The staff were friendly and helped us a lot.They really tried to help us in anyway that they can. This hotel looked much nicer in the online photos than it actually was. We had to argue for 3 breakfasts despite bkfst being included in the price & third bed was an uncomfortable cot despite pre-registering as 3 guests. Room smelled musty & there was obvious mold in the shower, room also not as clean as it could have been on arrival & after housekeeping […] visits. Spa unavailable due to lack of staff. Had a terrible incident in hotel restaurant where a staff member ignored a request & upon our questioning his attitude, he subsequently threatened (in Thai understood by my friend & English which the rest of us understood) and used physical intimidation (hand in face, knocking arm) to one of our group!!!!! In compensation, we got a free lunch... staff member lost 3 days work but should have been fired I think! In all, this hotel was definitely not worth the money they are charging & unless you get nice weather, it is difficult & expensive to do anything but beach at Kata. Read more

For the price it s the best i have ever had. The staff is very nice and helpfully, you have free internet, the decoration and style is very nice aswell, you are less than 100 m from the beach and from a great surf spot.

God fitnesscenter. Pool virkede ikke hvilke var ret surt. Dette burde give et nedslag eller gratis morgenmad. Maden på stedet er i den meget dyre ende og prøvede en thairet der ikke burde koste det halve af hvad den gjorde. Ellers god service og liger meget centralt hvis man er til fest og farver.

Sugar Palm, vi kom till hotellet en tisdags/onsdags-natt och det satt en receptionst vaken åt oss, det tackar vi för. Dagen efter var det strålande sol och vi som var jetlagade sov till 11.00 och sprang ner till stranden eftersom vi skippade att betala för hotellfrukosten. Vi hade extremt dålig väder resterande dagar så vi försökte få lite värme […] genom hotellets bastus(dom hade 2 olika). Dock så hade någon smetat in hela ena bastun med tigerbalsam så man kunde inte andas i den. Den andra funkade som förväntan. Vi passade då på att bada lite i poolen som var rätt kall och liten men dög för oss 10-20 personer som var vid hotellområdet då. Passade på att ta massage från hotellet då massörerna såg extremt uttråkade ut. Den var superB. En liten snärtig thailändare som flög omkring på en och knådade på så man skrek av välbehhag. Kommer vi åka hit igen? Vi var 3 killar som åkte hit och vi kommer nog inte återvända. Detta p.g.a Kata beach var helt fel ställe för oss. Det var en relativt liten strand men få ställen att ta sig till om man inte tog en taxi till Pattong eller Karon beach som vi valde att göra då solen låg på och festandet sög tag i en. Passar nog bättre för gamlingar som vill ta det lugnt en vecka eller två. Read more

Hotel grundsätzlich gut und Preislich ok, Zimmer sehr groß und halbwegs sauber, Hotelanlage für diese Hotelklasse schön, Umgebung sehr gut (nur knapp 200m) zum Strand. Einzig eines hat genervt -> Hab das Hotelpersonal einmal fragen müssen, ob sie mir eine thailandische Nummer anrufen können, wurde mir aber verweigert mit der Aussage, dass sie so etwas […] den Hotelgästen nicht anbieten können und ich zur nächsten Telefonzelle gehen soll (was mir nichts gebracht hat, da ich ja kein Thai kann -> sonst hätte ich eh vom Handy auch anrufen können...) Gut fand ich, dass man im Hotel direkt gleich ein Moped ausborgen konnte und die Preise fast gleich teuer waren wie auf der Straße bei irgendeinem Händler... Empfehlen kann ich in Kata Beach auf jeden Fall die nahe liegenden Ska Bar - sehr gemütliches Sitzen direkt am Meer mit klassen Cocktails und super netten einheimischem Personal. Read more
