Casuarina Beach Restaurant & Bar - Only five metres (5.5 yards) from the sands of Bang Tao Bay, the restaurant décor includes contemporary Thai furniture, hand woven fabrics, natural woods, and bright oil paintings. Air conditioning keeps the restaurant cool, while floor-to-ceiling windows remind guests they are on the beach. There is a pool table in the bar area. The menu changes daily and incorporates fresh seafood that diners can choose from a large fish tank, complemented by an à la carte menu. Reservations are suggested. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, and the attached bar stays open late. The Casuarina can be reserved for meetings and private events.
Laguna Café - Situated at the lower lobby, the café has an open-air terrace right next to the waterfall for alfresco dining, as well as an air-conditioned area. All areas have views of the tropical garden. The café is open all day and serves a large range of European, American, and Asian dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is a sushi and sashimi buffet every Thursday.
La Trattoria - Located near the ocean, adjacent to the pool, La Trattoria's three interconnected domes lead to an outdoor covered terrace featuring a classic water fountain. Décor is contemporary and informal, with white linen and plates, simple designs, and a dominant colour scheme of blue and white. One of the domes is air conditioned. There is an antipasta buffet, and tan leather menus featuring modern regional Italian dishes. Open for dinner. Dress is smart casual.
Ruen Thai - Occupying a traditional teak house overlooking the lagoon, Ruen Thai focuses on Royal Thai cuisine, blending traditional Thai flavors in innovative new dishes. Thai chefs serve such signature dishes as Thai-style spicy papaya salad with dry shredded beef, or flamed Phuket lobster served with red curry sauce and coconut milk. Servers in traditional garb and musicians playing Thai instruments add to the ambience. Guests can dine in air-conditioned rooms, or al fresco. Ruen Thai is open only for dinner, and reservations are recommended.
Poolside Café - Drinks and snacks on a terrace beside the pool. Guests can enjoy light lunches and tropical cocktails without leaving the pool area. Open mid-morning until early evening.
The wide range of activities provided at Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket include water sports, tennis, pitch and putt golf, jogging tracks, classes, and games facilities. A pool, suitable for water activities, and spa tub are located in the landscaped gardens. There is also a specially designated children's pool. Classes are offered in sailing, Thai boxing, and aerobics, personal trainers and a tennis coach are on site, and guests can join bike tours. The health club also provides free weights, strength training machines, stationary bicycles, and elliptical trainers. Two cement tennis courts are available. The recreation center offers video game consoles, table tennis, and billiards. Thai cooking classes and Batik Painting take place at Ruen Thai restaurant on select days, and surcharges apply per class package.
Guests have access to the full array of activities of five different resort participants in the Laguna Phuket resort area, and the free shuttles and ferries between them. The Laguna Phuket Golf Course offers 18-holes in a lush tropical setting featuring lagoons and coconut groves. Discounts are available to guests of the Dusit Laguna Resort. Within Laguna Phuket, guests can also go horseback riding, climb a rock wall and ropes at Quest Training Centre, and visit the family friendly Camp Laguna. Sailing, scuba diving, windsurfing, kayaking, and snorkelling are all available off shore. Guests can also book tours with the resort to go mountain biking, ATV riding, and even elephant riding.

This six-kilometre long beach located on the west coast is one of the longest beaches in Phuket. Even with resorts and hotels along the stretch, the “no access via beach roads'” rule makes it a quiet and isolated place. Beach hotels offer several dining options. Recreational activities on the beach include horse-riding, jet skiing, surfing, and paragliding. The nearby town/village of Cherng Talay offers home-cooked Thai cuisine and the serenity of Thai culture.

At the time of our visit the hotel was probably only 30% full, so there were not too many people around. After reading all the positive reviews all over the web about Dusit, we decided to book it. That, and the fact the Expedia rate was so good. The Dusit was the definition of full-service. We booked their shuttle from the airport (because there are a lot of taxi scams there) and it was the nicest shuttle ever, with leather seats and curtains on the windows. […] We also found out that you can book the hotel shuttle to Phuket City or Patong Beach for the same price as a cab (IF they don't scam you), so you can ride in style and safety. Whatever you need, just ask one of the many front desk people and they will help you. There's even a free shuttle and free boat around the Laguna area. The included buffet breakfast was fantastic with fresh tropical fruit (safe to eat) and international dishes. The room itself was clean and nicely appointed, very comfortable. "club room - misleading"
We booked 4 nights in a Club room as part of our honeymoon in Nov 2012 as a treat however very disappointed with the hotel. We never stayed with Dusit before so gave it a go as it claims to be a 5 -star hotel chain in thailand. On the website it stated that the CLUB ROOM is " Only a few steps away from Phuket's longest beachfront" and "The endless […] attractions of sea view off the private patio" . That is SO NOT TRUE. Our rooms is facing directly to the back of the italian restaurant, full of cooking smells and all that! There's only about a 10 degrees sea view that we can get from our room. ( i have to say some rooms are amazing as its directly facing the sea but we just feel that they CAN NOT sell the room we stayed as a CLUB ROOM. I would say only 25% of the club rooms are truly fulfil what they described as a Club Room) Rooms are not very clean either. We found an opened can of soft drinks in our fridge and spillage also. "Wonderful place to stay"
Brilliant hotel. We went in May. It was off peak season so it seems quiet and each hotel in the Laguna area only open 2 restaurants each during off peak season. We walked pass the spa on our last day and they were doing half price offers. Was gutted as we were waiting for taxi for airport to go home. People very friendly. The check in process was amazing! […] They sit you down and bring you a nice welcome gift and drink. There is a desk at the airport which helps get you a taxi at a cheaper fixed rate. Taxi to Patong was about 700 Baht (£14). Must go to Lotus, the restaurant on the beach. Prices are reasonable like UK prices. Free shuttle bus from hotels in the Laguna area to Lotus (ask the front desk to call them for you) and also to other hotels in the area. The Laguna area is quiet, but much nicer than staying a Patong beach. We walk out the hotel and you are at the beach. Off peak season meant it was very quiet, and the waves were too strong to go in the water. But it is beautiful. "Great for relaxing with the family"
The staff are amazing! Nothing was too much trouble and we were helped with every request. Our room was a double lagoon view and was surprisingly large, tastefully decorated with a spacious marble bathroom. Everyday we received complimentary water and fruit. The room rate included a fresh tasty buffet breakfast with an enormous selection that changed […] daily. Which meant I enjoyed curry for breakfast! ( a favourite indulgence I always look forward to when visiting Asian countries). The pool area was a favourite spot to sit and read or enjoy swimming with the kids. This hotel resort is perfect for mature couples or/and families desperate to just relax. Younger (and the young at heart) travellers looking for a resort in which to party or go out for conveniently located night-life may find the Dusit a little tame. Like some other Dusit hotels, I feel this one has lost its 5* appeal. Strikes me now as more a 4* resort although parts of it are still very enjoyable. Hotel service was excellent in all areas, though the service was sometimes a little strained during the busy breakfast period. All of the restaurants offered good quality authentic food and attentive service. If I had any criticisms, the Thai restaurant had one of the smallest menus I have ever seen and all of the nearby Thai restaurants outside of […] the resort offered more extensive menus; that said, they happily produced a dish for me that wasn't on the menu. Wine prices are extortionate at more than twice the price of a good London Brasserie wine list, whereas wine in the restaurants outside of the resort was broadly in line with London Brasserie prices. It was too windy and the sea was far too rough to sail in the bay but the lagoon offered a realistic alternative; the boats were all well maintained and the sailing staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The pool area was excellent with plenty of loungers both around the pool and the beach, with plenty of shade or direct sunshine. Airport transports were smooth and reliable in a well appointed, modern 5 series BMW. The rooms were spacious, stylish, and very comfortable, with everything you might need and the fitness centre was well equipped with top quality equipment. "Holiday in Paradise"
We have recently returned from our 14th annual visit to this resort. Obviously you have to love a place to go so many times. And we do. On this recent visit our booking was for a Lagoon View room. The room was attractive and well equipped. The bed was comfortable. The grounds were a credit to the gardening staff and to the daily maintenance team. Employees […] in other departments who work at the resort from reception to restaurants to pool boys to room maids were most friendly and attentive to our needs. We can't speak too highly of their attitude and their eager desire to please. The restaurants were excellent with Ruen Thai and La Trattoria both enjoying class reputations in Phuket and beyond. Laguna Cafe catered for western tastes. The Horizon lounge offered drinks with a view out to sea while you watched the sunset. Magic! We found the quality of food to be excellent and reasonable in price. The resort is a bit remote from major shopping centres. You can take a taxi to Patong (if that town gives you a buzz) or to Phuket Town with great shopping at Robinsons or at the other end of the spectrum to the week-end markets. vi - et par på ca. 60 - er netop hjemkommet fra 9 nætters ophold på Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket. Et rigtigt dejligt hotel med en super service overalt, personalet var meget venligt og serviceminded. Lobbyområde, have, restauranter og specielt den fantastiske strand, nød vi meget. Lækker morgenmadsbuffet. Dog var vi ikke helt tilfreds med vores værelse […] (Oceanwiev king), som var lille og mørkt med en meget lille balkon. En skuffelse, da det slet ikke lignede billederne på hotellets hjemmeside og det var ikke 5-stjernet standard. Men altid pænt og rent og dejlig seng. Priserne på hotellets restauranter er alt for høje, hvilket gjorde at vi kun spise der få gange og i stedet indtog vores måltider på strandrestauranterne, som men nemt kan gå til langs stranden.
