On the north side of Dubai Creek, Deira is an interface between the high-rise business city and the traditional Arab trading port. Modern malls give way to ancient souks selling silks, spices, gold, perfumes, and a lively fish market. A broad waterfront promenade leads past the dhow wharf, where the wooden vessels offload their cargos. Beyond lie the dhow boat-building yards, and Dubai Creek’s ritzy golf and yacht club.

I couldn't believe that I was in a Meridien hotel when I saw the room they gave me. It felt more like a motel in the Midwest. Chairs were covered by ugly pink (stained) covers, the furniture was old and didn't match, the bathroom counter was plastic (not the marble and tile mosaic advertised). When I called the front desk to complain, they brought me […] to a slightly nicer room. But still, this hotel was WAY worse than any Meridien I have seen elsewhere in the world. "Le Meridien Dubai"
Great choice for saty near airport. Not cheap, but still a value.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very impressed"
Had a fantastic 2 nights at this Hotel. Great staff Great Pool and Great Food. We only had poolside meals and Room Service for the night meal which was fantastic. My only complaint were alcoholic drinks were expensive. It is very close to the airport so great hotel for a nights rest.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Stuck in the 70´s!"
I frequented this hotel back in the 70´s. Unfortnately, it hasn´t changed much.....the decor adn rooms ae tired (a best) and the whole place smelt old and stuffy. Upon our chechin we received a classic room as it was just for one night. When we complained we were told that this room was what we booked and was not renovated. Duh! Anyways, the receptionist […] was friendly enough to upgrade us to a deluxe which was slightly better as it was rennovated. I just don´t know when it was done, the 80´s? it was still tired but better. A toilet seat which was two sizes too small for the bowl, lights that go out after a period of not moving, much noise from the hallway. No, I wouldn´t recommend this place to anyone.
