On the north side of Dubai Creek, Deira is an interface between the high-rise business city and the traditional Arab trading port. Modern malls give way to ancient souks selling silks, spices, gold, perfumes, and a lively fish market. "Awesome place to stay in Dubai"

"not what was expected"
I had problems with the room. First, the toilet would keep running unless you giggled the handle. Second, there was no cold water, just hot and hotter. Third, the whole 1st floor smelled like wet paint. The service was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Stay at the Marriot or Movenpick"
This hotel was deceiving. You walked in and the lobby and common areas were nice, even the pool on the fourth floor looked rather inviting. What you don't know until after you check in is that the guest rooms have not been renovated since about 1990. Everything looked old and worn out, and the room was very dark and dreary. Went to the pool to enjoy […] some sun... only to discover that the hotel is directly under the approach for DXB. Yup, that's right... screaming 777's and 747's directly overhead.
