Very nice 2 bedroom apartment. nice location. Lots of amenities nearby like restaurants, beaches and supermarket. Convenient boat rental across the street. Only negative check in was at 4:00pm, and check out was 10:00am. We got in at 1:00 and had to hang around for 3 hours for the room.

Excellent location for those with or without car. Ocean views from each room. Best to get 3-5 floor, not only for view but to minimize noise from 2nd floor lounge that has entertainment couple nights during week. Nice beach ... rocky on right half, stay to left. Over 1 ft sudden drop few ft out from shoreline, so not ideal for unattended kids. There […] WAS a smaller beach to right, separated from larger by rocks, that might be more protected. Great pool, but didn't use it. Only real beef is that they have installed thatched roof palapas for shade on beach. There are actually a good number of them, but not anywhere near enough for the number of people staying there in high season. Even though there are signs forbidding reserving these palapas for more than an hr, nothing is done about it. By 8:30am tops, maybe earlier, all palapas have lounge chairs underneath with towels on them. People belonging to towels may not actually go down to beach until hours later, but you're stuck if you need shade. Same with pool, which has limited number of lounge chairs under umbrellas. Similar to what they do at neighboring Atrium, would be much better if they put out lounge chairs and umbrellas as requested. Would take up much less room than the palapas, and minimize need to reserve a spot early in the morning. Read more

They only clean rooms once every 4 days. Pool is very small, but excellent for small children. Pool towels are a little rough. You only get 1 per day. Beach sand is terrible. Rough and little rocks all over. Location is superb.

We would definitely stay here again. Ask for a room on 3rd floor or above, so you can watch either traffic go through the draw bridge or the lagoon. We were on the 2nd floor and had to walk up a flight of stairs to be able to see over the building. With all of the construction and traffic on the island it was actually nice to be located closer to the airport (SImpson Bay area). The hotel offers parking for no cost, friendly and welcoming staff accessible just about anytime of the day , and a very clean facility. I had booked a one bedroom and was happily surprised when they upgraded me to a two bedroom, two bathroom for no extra cost. The room also had a full kitchen with all new appliances. At time of visit, the front desk service was prompt, efficient and professional. Our request for change of room allocation was promptly granted. The room offered to us on the 4th floor had a mild musty smell at entry, but this soon dissipated with the A/C powered on. There is an abundance of restaurants across the street and nearby serving truly great meals. For the cost the value is good at the hotel. Pros: Our room was ready early. The pool area is nice, but not very large. The pool restaurant served good food. The location has good restaurants right across the street. Two Bedroom suite was large with a nice kitchen and deck. Bathrooms not fancy but showers good and hot. Everything about this place exceeded my expectations. Within walking distance of many fine restaurants, shopping and souvenir shops and far away from the cruise ship crowds that clog up everything. The view was magnificent and the place was quiet making for a relaxing stay. Used the kitchen a lot which helped the budget, but plenty of restaurant options right around the hotel too. There are also several grocery stores within walking distance. We did rent […] a car for the week which I would recommend. Not expensive and it's fun to tour the whole island. Do keep in mind the roads and driving habits are not the same as in the US. Philipsburg has great shopping and we enjoyed seeing the large cruise ships too. Did find that the beach right in front of the hotel is one of the best and we ended up spending quite a bit of time relaxing there. Maho beach is a must see: watching the planes land and take off so close by is very entertaining! Read more

You can take a bus just in front of the hotel to both capital cities (dutch / french). Enough parking space for your rented car. Everyday activities in the hotel (it's a timeshare). This was our second in two years and once again, my family and I found the staff to be very friendly, we had spacious clean rooms in a family friendly environments. Stayed here because in 95 when category 4 Luis pummeled SXM, the whole island was non-functional but Royal palm didn't miss a beat. I survived a categorty 2-3 Hurrican (Earl) with minimal inconvenience. Staff are great, location is great. I've stayed many places but this is best overall so far....

Royal Palm Beach Resort is a GREAT hotel. The pictures on the expedia page is not really accurate. It is now very modern blue and white color. Very clean inside and out. The amenities that includes your suite would be everything you would need. TV is plasma/Aquos. Staff was wonderful. Cleaning lady was super nice. I came with my family-total of 6 people […] and there was enough room, like your own little condo. All rooms overlooks the ocean, lower floor great with kids but we prefer the top floor to see the whole water view. Bring your laptop., there is WIFI in the lobby through the pool and some rooms. We were on the 3rd floor and was able to connect to our iphones.... in general it was one of the greatest experience for us. Buy food at the smaller grocery stores-its cheaper. Rent a car- Elantra was perfect even on rough roads- don't buy gas from FULL-Service,... $4.70 per gallon. We traveled to all the beach/bay- it was pretty cheap excursion for 6 people.
