Boat trips also depart from the quayside. Portimao is the regional shopping centre, noted for leather, shoes and clothes, and its weekly market attracts large crowds. Close by, Praia da Rocha is a busy resort which boasts one of the Algarve’s most spectacular beaches.

This was the worst hotel we've ever stayed at. The room was basic and dirty. We first got a room on the second floor that had such a bad smell to it that the cleaning crew had to leave all the windows open to try and air it out. We switched rooms to the 6th floor which smelled better and seemed cleaner. This hotel is a party hotel if you plan on drinking […] while your here then this is your hotel however if you are a couple or family do not recommend. All of the rooms have only two single beds, no double. The hotel is in a good location near the beach but would recommend staying in the neighboring town if you are not familiar with the area. club praia da rocha was not what we expected at all we have stayed in many places in portugal over the years and this was the worse just couldnt believe they have no kettle in room or anything else you have to lease theese items from a games room manager the hotel do not have anything to do with this . We stayed there for ten days and our bed was changed […] once also the room never looked as though it had been cleaned by cleaners i think she just changed towels after five days overall the apartment was in bits nothing done to them in years stay well away from them would be my advice.
