Brown´s Downtown, and especially the staff, are top-notch. My grumble, though, is with the current generation of so-called ``modern´´ hotel interior designers. I swear, not a one of them has ever stayed in a room of their design, used the bathroom fully or worked in housekeeping and had to clean and ready a room and bath. In this case, it is impossible […] to take a shower without water eventually covering the bathroom floor. It is nearly impossible to adjust the water in the shower without first getting a head-drenching of cold water. There is a mirror covering one complete wall, but essentially no shelf space for a woman´s make-up kit and-or a guy´s shaving gear. It's a very modern, brand new and high tech hotel. Each room has an I-MAC ready to be used by costumers. For free. Amazing. Staff extremelly friendly and helpfull. Only negative aspect: no telephone at the room, and, for this, no wake up call available nor possibility do call other room. Excellent relation cost/benefit.

Having worked in Rua Augusta many years ago, it's great to find a hotel in the heart of Lisboa, within walking distance of the main shopping, entertainment and tourist areas. Also 10mins stroll to cais do sodre, perfect for train connections up the coast to Estoril/Cascais. Small room was.... Small. But enough room to walk around double bed, so fine […] for crashing out. Style and gadgets were great and staff very pleasant. Only negative comment is that aircon and plumbing was quite noisey between rooms. Rule of thumb - avoid cafes/restaurants on Rua Augusta and main squares - service is average and prices are high. Go a few streets back and pick one of these. Restaurant Palmeira (left of Baixa metro arch entrance) serves typical food, or if thirsty, great cold beer for a fraction of the price. Read more

Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm. Die Zimmer sind sauber und in gutem Zustand - das Service war super. Insgesamt ist das Browns Downtown sehr auf den Stylefaktor bedacht (iMac und iPad in jedem Zimmer, alles topmodern). Die Lage könnte jedenfalls nicht besser sein und die Preise waren in der Nebensaison auch sehr gut!

Situation idéale de l'hôtel à moins de 5 minutes de la station de métro Baixa-Chiado, des arrêts du tram 28 et du tram 15 vers Belem, à 10 minutes de la gare de Rossio avec le train pour Sintra. Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen. Der Zugang ist in einer Seitenstrasse und Nachts muss man sehr aufpassen um nicht in "Fäkalien" zu treten (mir zweimal passiert). Vi booket dette hotellet fordi vi fikk en veldig god deal de 4 dagene vi skulle være der, men hadde nok neppe betalt det de skulle ha i full pris. Hotellet ligger veldig gunstig til midt i Lisboa, i gå-avstand til shopping-strøk og severdigheter. Som de markedsfører seg med, er dette et design-hotell, noe man får inntrykk av med en gang man kommer inn […] i lobbyen (med gratis espresso-maskin)- rett og slett veldig fresht. Rommet var fint, med egen ipad og mac (men alvorlig talt; hvem vil sitte ved en data-maskin på Lisboa-ferien sin? Den ble aldri skrudd på...). Badet var i minste laget, og dusjen litt lite praktisk- det var vann på HELE gulvet etter en kort dusj. Det er også et lite kjøkken der med kjøleskap, komfyr og vask. Veldig fint, men igjen: hvem vil stå og lage mat på ferien sin, når man kan få et måltid til 3-4 euro rett utenfor hotellet? Sånn lyd-messig hører man veldig lite fra trafikken fra gata, men det er ganske lydt mellom rommene (hver morgen våknet jeg opp i skrekk da jeg trodde noen låste seg inn i rommet- det viste seg at det var naboen som låste seg ut av sitt rom...). De ansatte på hotellet er kjempehyggelige og service-innstilte, og tok seg alltid tid til å hjelpe til med å finne ut hvor ting var. Wir verbrachten drei Nächte in Brown's Down Town und haben die Location sehr genossen. Sie liegt perfekt für einen Städtetrip. Freundlich - kompetent - sauber. Die Zimmer sind etwas klein, aber wir waren ja nur zum Schlafen da. Kann das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen.

Tres bon séjour dans cet hôtel. accueil très chaleureux et chambres modernes, bien équipées. Hôtel idéalement placé. Notre seule réserve est l insonorisation (on entend beaucoup les autres clients ainsi que les femmes de ménage notamment lorsqu elles passent l aspirateur tot le matin ). Mooi hotel met mooie kamers, absoluut perfecte ligging, en erg behulpzaam personeel. Wordt ook keurig opgeruimd voor je elke dag(ook de afwas vanuit je keukentje). Misschien nog de tip voor lange mensen dat als je een grote kamer reserveert, je te maken krijgt met een licht aflopend schuin dak. Oppassen geblazen dus!

Um hotel novo, com uma proposta bem interessante. Não possui cafe da manha, mas em Lisboa isso nao é necessario - existem excelentes padarias que nem no Brasil. O hotel dispoe de uma maquina que faz chá, cafe e chocolate quente absolutamente de graça e quantas vezes quiser. Possui uma mini cozinha com frigobar e fogao, facilitando assim para quem deseja […] economizar fazendo compras em supermercado. L'hotel si discosta molto dal clima generale di Lisbona, ma offre stanze confortevoli e ipertecnologiche. In camera c'è un I-Mac con accesso free ad internet, una radio con docking station per I-Pod, un piano cottura ad induzione, un lavello ed un pensile con un set da cucina completo. Il bagno è pulitissimo, come il resto della camera, e completo di […] tutto (tranne il bidè chiaramente, ma fuori dall'Italia è pressocchè introvabile). L'hotel è in piena Baixa, a due passi da tutto. In pianura trovi, da un lato Rossio e dall'altro il Tejo. Sali da un lato e trovi il Chiado e il Bairro alto e dall'altro l'Alfama. Intorno è pieno di locali per mangiare (da evitare quelli con i camerieri di fuori che adescano i clienti).
