"Never again"
Once we arrived to the hotel the checking in was easy and we were put in a very tiny room with a very bad smell so we asked to have the room changed and they changed the room for us but it was still very tiny and the smell was not as bad. The sheets do get changed everyday only if your request. i had bed bugs all over my legs and i informed the hotel […] staff and i was told it is because we left the windows open and the bugs came in. Also there was bugs all over the furniture. The drinks at the lobby bar were sometimes good and sometimes bad. Drinks from the casino omg horrible. we were mistreated. "While stunningly beautiful, stay with caution"
While the hotel is extremely beautiful and quite comfortable, my room had problems after problems. The white sheets were dirty upon arrival, the faucet in the bathroom heavily splashed water all over me when turned on, the AC wasn't working correctly, the freezer's ice compartment was frozen and did not make ice, the main window blind/shade by the door […] was missing, when I request bedding for sofa bed I was given a dirty pillow. I was given a very bad, or incomplete room. I was not offered to change to a comparable room. No compensation was given for my horrible experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst Hotel Experience Ever - And I used to manage hotels"
Let me start off by saying that I used to be not only be a manager in the hotel guest service business, but I used to work for the Marriott and Ritz-Carlton branded hotels. As a gal that usually is 110% content at a very value-based hotel such as La Quinta or Holiday Inn, I urge this hotel to clean house and get stronger leadership from the very top. […] My experience should be an embarassment to the Renaissance brand. Check-in was a nightmare. I was told that I would not be getting the oceanview room that I had paid for on Expedia. I was asked to show proof I had booked it, so I logged into my Expedia account *at* the front desk to prove that I had booked it, since it was not in the hotel's system. They said they were sold out of the oceanview rooms, and that it was impossible for me to have one. So, I was given an 'upgrade' in the new wing, not facing the ocean. I thought, sure, I'll work with the hotel, not against it. So I go into the room, isolated in some creepy corner. No curtains in the window in the shower which faced other buildings, no garbage cans, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, no desk, no chair, no place to put a laptop. No directory, no clock, and behind some slated wall was some sort of engine or pump that was very loud. This was no upgrade. I went to the manager and was a squeaky wheel. Finally got my room. The rest of the experience was very negative; dirty room, housekeeping rarely came before 7 PM. Only 1 employee, the valet, seemed happy to see me. Awful Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
