The hotel staff was VERY accommodating but the hotel rooms need a facelift. The beds were creaky and the mattress lumpy and the air conditioning fan sounded like a bucket of bolts all night long. We did mention it at checkout to the desk. Overall, it is a great location and the personnel were awesome but the hotel itself just needs some upgrades.

Very good staff and service. Rooms need some remodeling and new appliances. In this opportunity the internet connection was very bad, not like in some previous stays. After all is a decent place to stay and very close to the beach.

The rooms were rather small,a room for 3 was a room for 2 with an extra bed leaving no room to move.Rooms were clean,location was adequate next to Burger king ,in front of a Boutique hotel-restaurant La Plague/Beach Club worth visiting.Breakfast on 10th floor was a pleasant surprise with a view of the surroundings.

At 2.5 stars expectations are rather low. The only advantage is airport proximity. Higher floors may have a view. Breakfast is nonexistent. So it only meets the expectations.

location is good. We called for an extra towel since there was four of us and we only had three towel, it was never brought up to our room. The staff were great, cleaning service was fine, but the hotel itself is not well-maintained at all, air circulation is horrible and rooms get very stuffy at night. Also, lots of noise coming out of the bathroom, the vents don't work, and the tubs all have rust stains!!!

I was leary about staying here because I'd read some reviews that this hotel needed renovation, was dirty, had insects, that the linens were threadbare, etc.... I could not disagree more. It's not a five-star hotel, but then again it's not trying to be. It it also not a cheap dive... my family of five (in two rooms) felt quite safe and comfortable here. […] The pool was attractive, the hotel interior was bright, clean, and inviting, and the rooms were comfortable and reasonably sized. Standard lower-48 ammeneties. No problems with the staff. NO BUGS. Very pleasant, and certainly NOT simply an inconvenience that we tolerated for a cheap rate. Location in the beating heart of the Isla Verde district....that was the only distraction - a busy nightlife scene on the street right outside. But the beach is just across the street, there are several restaurants within walking distance, and the 24 hr Walgrens a block or so away can meet most unanticipated basic needs. Room was just OK. Bathtub had a flimsy bottom (not solid) so it felt like you were on a plastic moon bounce. In the hotel pictures from the Expedia website show the rooms had flat screens...not true. Maybe for non-Expedia customers?? When I tried to change to a room with a flat screen, none was available. The lobby is remodeled, but the rooms are not. The rooms are run down, the bathroom is small and damaged, old. Faucets are bad. There was mold on the ceiling of one room and the fridges are way too old.

Sure its lower in price than the other Isla Verde hotels. But for a minimally lower price couldn't they give the bathroom upkeep? Doors falling apart, toilet set peeling paint, bathtub drains hardly work. The A/C gives a stinky musty smell to the room and the breakfast if way below minimum standards. The stay was not a bad experience because the performance and kindness of the staff starting from maintenance to management compensate for it. I do believe that some changes will turn this place around starting from exterminating because I did see a few roaches nothing to panic yet. The continental breakfast was not bad but the coffee needs some upgrade […] it was waterly. The water pressure was weak, which cause to take longer showers. I remember when Howard Johnson was an example of what a hotel should be. I recommended this hotel to my family and my friends especially to everyone that came to PR who worked at American Airlines, United, Continental, and Jetblue. I even recommended the car rental place from down the street and it was a great combination. Now I would think about it and would have to explain how it has changed before I make any recommendations. If money is an issue for the traveler and is just a few days stay due to difficult situations then this will do. Pretty much you get what you pay for. I wish I took photos to post but I was not impressed to take any pictures. I hope and wish management take these suggestions to take action and make some changes because the location of this hotel is excellent. I would love to get some feed back from management of any updates so I can return and even recommend friends since I travel at least four times a year and would love to give you our business. Tanned and torn towels. Terrible bed matress, extremely used with a depression in the center. No pool towels available (they say they were in the middle of washing them). Good quality toiletries available. Friendly staff. Good continental breakfast. Clean pool.

Completely outdated and uncomfortable. The pictures are not accurate and I would not recommended this hotel to anyone. Pay a little more money and stay closer to old San Juan. The hotels there will probably still be really outdated but atleast you'll be in a nice area and you can walk around outside.

The location of this hotel is awesome but the beds are aweful. I woke up with back pain every day. The mattress made me not reccomend this hotel since there are other hotels in the same area, you can find a hotel in the same area that provides better sleeping time.

This hotel is an inexpensive place to rest your head while exploring PR. There are no frills, so don't expect any, but it's clean and located right across the street from a free, public access beach and the bus stop into Old San Juan. There's also a Walgreen's in walking distance as well as some restaurants. We walked down to them at night, though I'm […] not positive it was a "good" area at night. The only reason I say that is because we saw quite a few cops, but that's likely just them taking extra precautions to protect tourists. The pool looks really nice, though we did not have time to utilize it. Our first room did have a faulty security safe and shower, and so we had to change rooms the second day, which was a little bit of a pain, but the staff were friendly about accommodating us. Then, the second room had no wifi, but you can just go out in the hall or lobby if that happens. The continental breakfast is just that - a continental breakfast - toast, cereal, pastries, and oatmeal. Overall, a good experience. Would return if the price stays low. Read more

My wife and I went to this hotel on our 1 year anniversary and we had a fantastic stay. From the first moment we arrived the staff was friendly, fun, and a pleasure to talk to while we got everything together for our room. They didn't have the breakfast vouchers ready for us when we got our keys, but they told us that they would get them to us within […] the hour, and while my wife and I were still exploring the room, one of the staff slipped an envelope under the door with our breakfast vouchers for our entire stay. The room was huge, the refrigerator was cold, the bathroom was cleaned spotlessly every single day. Our beds were made quickly, and not once did I ever notice any of my possessions even out of place, with the exception of our toothbrushes, which the maid placed symmetrically along the side of the sink. The in room electronic safe worked fantastic and I never felt any qualms about leaving my valuables inside of it. The picture that I added was the view from the breakfast area on the top floor. The hotel was gracious enough to let us have an early check in without the extra fee. Which helped since our flight landed at 12:45. When we got to the room, the carpet was stained (which is expected), the drapes and the bed covers look well worn as well. The TV in the room turned on and off, up and down as it pleased. So if you fell asleep with the […] TV on, you may wake up to it blasting! The pool was nice. The free breakfast in the morning left much to be desired. The oatmeal looked like soup, the OJ was warm, the cereal was stale. They even had an issue with me taking a (yes, A, as in singular, one) piece of toast down to the room for my boyfriend who wasn't feeling well that morning. The hotel does have an amazing pizza place in the lobby. Great pizza, great prices. They even let us have a late check out (1pm# and held our bags behind the desk while we walked Isla Verde Avenue one last time while waiting for our 5:55pm flight. Some parts of the hotel does have a slight mold/closed up smell and some of the fixtures could use some updating. If you get a room close to the elevator, expect to hear the elevator everytime it opens. My husband is a Navy sailor and we had a family emergency and had to fly next day to Puerto Rico to the funeral of his parents. When we arrived and checked in, we walked into one of the tiniest hotel rooms I have ever been in. Two beds were squeezed into a tiny room. I literally had to climb over my mother to get to the bathroom. Also, when I turned on the television, there was NO SERVICE!
