I was leary about staying here because I'd read some reviews that this hotel needed renovation, was dirty, had insects, that the linens were threadbare, etc.... I could not disagree more. It's not a five-star hotel, but then again it's not trying to be. It it also not a cheap dive... my family of five (in two rooms) felt quite safe and comfortable here. […] The pool was attractive, the hotel interior was bright, clean, and inviting, and the rooms were comfortable and reasonably sized. Standard lower-48 ammeneties. No problems with the staff. NO BUGS. Very pleasant, and certainly NOT simply an inconvenience that we tolerated for a cheap rate. Location in the beating heart of the Isla Verde district....that was the only distraction - a busy nightlife scene on the street right outside. But the beach is just across the street, there are several restaurants within walking distance, and the 24 hr Walgrens a block or so away can meet most unanticipated basic needs. Very professional and courteous staff. The 10th floor breakfast room with spectacular views of the beach, city and the mountain range of El Yunque was a very delightful surprise. The facility could use some improvements, e.g., new room floorings/carpet. I enjoyed my stay @ HJ.

The room was good but there was a smell of huminity on the 2nd floor and the room. Parking was not included, i paid $8/day for it. Breakfast was normal. Service was great. Great location. I will come back to this hotel.

MY STAY WAS VERY NICE. WENT WITH SPOUSE AND 2 KIDS ( 9 & 1.5 YRS ). WHEN ON VACATION HERE USED HOTEL MAINLY FOR SLEEP AND RELAXATION AFTER A DAY HANGING OUT WITH FAMILY. POOL WAS VER NIVE SMALL BUT JUST RIGHT. ONLY FLAW WAS THAT SHOWER HEAD STOPPED WOTKING LAST DAY OF MY STAY.

the room was fine, but comforter had a rip and the a/c was either on or off... setting a temp didn't do anything. also in the fitness room all but 1 bike were broken. other than that -- the room was fine, clean, staff friendly, close to airport and right across from the beach. id stay again if i stayed in isle verde, but i doubt ill stay in that area […] again. It has a perfect location, across the beach. There are a lot of options to eat outside. Overall if you are looking for something to go just to the beach, this is your place. It was clean and the staff were available at all times of the day.

Let me preface my review by saying that I usually stay in all inclusive resorts and have traveled to five other Caribbean destinations. I can't believe how spoiled and high maintenance some of the other reviewers must be. This hotel may have not been the nicest in Isla Verde but it was far from the worst. The staff was always friendly and was able to […] get us a room on a higher floor with a better view after one day. Contrary to what other reviewers have said there always seemed to be a manager on duty, getting fresh towels was never a problem and the smell of the lobby wasn't that bad. The free in room wifi and free breakfast was a definite bonus. The beach was a VERY short walk across the street and between two adjacent hotels. There is a good Italian restaurant in the hotel and plenty of other options for dining in the area. There is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel which is nice when coming back from the Old San Juan area. It only cost 75 cents each way and runs about every 30 minutes or so. You can take the #5 or #53 to get to Old San Juan and the same buses bring you back. Finally, you definitely have to do the bioluminescence kayak tour! It's a great experience. Read more

We stayed at this hotel one night on our recent visit to Puerto Rico before traveling to another location. Once there, we found that it was at a good location across from the beach. I chose this hotel because it was close to the airport, had parking available at a reasonable daily charge, and included a continental breakfast. Upon entering the hotel, […] we found an attractive lobby and were greeted by a very helpful staff member. While checking in, I mentioned to my husband that I was thirsty, and the hotel staff member immediately offered me a bottle of water. Although we didn't have time to use the pool, it looked very nice. The room was small, nicely appointed, but it did have a slight odor. The elevator is very small and slow. The one thing that was disappointing was the continental breakfast. This hotel was a bit more expensive then some of the others that I looked at, but I thought that having breakfast available to us would save us some time in the morning. It was probably the worst continental breakfast that I have ever seen at a hotel. We got to the breakfast between 8:30 and 9:00, and the fruit was gone, and didn't get refilled. What was left, had no taste at all. The coffee cups must have been the smallest that they could buy. I couldn't find water for tea and had to ask for it. They did have orange juice, and a few pastries and muffins, but we just ended up having toast with jelly as it seemed to be the best from the choices available. Read more

I only came in for business and only stayed 2 days, but this hotel is right on the main avenue, has beach access across the street, and you can easily walk to many restaurants and bars. It also has easy access to the highway and, at least from my room, some ocean views. All in all, I would not mind staying here again the next time I come down.

Excellent location for its price, 10mins driving distance from San Juan and less than 5 mins from the airport. Parking is $7/day, which is fine, in and out privledges. There's a 24hr burger king and 24hr GREAT puerto rican restaurant to your right, wished i had more time there. The beach is literally across the street, about 50 feet.
