Recreation and entertainment flow in generous proportions. Transformed into a commercial hub in the 1970s, Malate is overflowing with restaurants, bars, shopping plazas, discos, and new swanky hotels. The university district of Emita is home to an equally buzzing nightlife, with some “red-light” elements. Don’t miss the country’s largest park, Rizal, and the Manila Baywalk for a leisurely stroll.

"It was a restless night."
The hotel interior is OK though the space is small but that Bistro Michelle has a nice huge painting which I like. However according to the picture that they sent me. We supposed to have a twin bed but unfortunately when we were there it was just a single bed. At night until morning the crowd outside especially those drunkards singing at the videoke […] was very disturbing. They never simply sing but also scream. They stopped singing around 5:30 AM. Sad to say I was restless the following day. The room was hot too. It's not the Air-condition's fault. It's old and they need to change it. The TV is old too which I'm scared to touch maybe some parts will fall and I will pay later. I request for water and there was a crawling object which is visible when you pour it on your glass. Actually, there was a funny comment coming from my cousin when she entered our room. She said that the room smell like a dog I guess because they never wash the carpeted floor. The best part of my stay at the hotel was their winning smile. In the middle of my sleepless night they smiled at me and it was a great comfort. The staff was very helpful. I'm not sure if I would go back there maybe if they will give me a room that is sound proof. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Across from USA Embassy, beautiful OLD Statehouse"
Big bath like in the Art Deco period of the 1930s. Big room like 20 by 20 feet....No view, but this is not important to me, actually the room received less noise from Roxas Blvd because of this.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pretty good budget hotel near the US Embassy"
This is a decent enough hotel by Philippines standards. The highlight of my stay was the staff, they really do go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay. Service in the dining room was friendly and efficient. The location is brilliant if you have business at the US Embassy. The embassy hands out appointments at 6:30am, so you get up at 5, walk […] across the street to Starbucks at 5:30am when they open, then walk 2 blocks to the embassy and wait in line. The hotel has its own Starbucks on the second floor, but it doesn't open until much later. The downside to the Miramar is that it is kind of old and run-down. Carpets were quite worn and patched together in some places. The elevator only goes up to the 4th floor, so if you get a room on the 5th floor you have to walk up the last flight. And the elevator doesn't reach all the way down to the ground floor, so you have to walk up a half of a floor worth of stairs to get to it. The television was an small glass tube type, but it worked okay. Internet was not free, you have to buy time (3 hours for 100 pesos, about 78 US cents per hour). I hate paying for internet at a hotel, but at those prices it's hard to complain. What's funny is they had higher-value cards for sale (ie, 900 pesos for 15 hours) but all of them worked out to a higher price per hour (900 pesos for 15 hours is 1.39 USD per hour). So stick with the lowest card and buy a few. Overall very comfortable and a good value for the price as of April 2012. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I do not recommend this hotel to a wheelchair bound because there is no elevator. They have to literary carry me from ground floor to second floor. Bath room is not wheelchair friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"restful stay"
We are very happy with our hotel stay. The room was great, everything we requested was granted. The staff are very polite and accommodating. The room was always clean, linens were changed everyday. Plenty of hot water for showersOur every need was immediately met. The hotel is a few minutes walk to the Luneta Park and Manila Bay attractions.Restaurants […] are a few seconds walk from the hotel. There is also musical entertainment in the hotel every night My only negative comment is that there is no facility for tea making and no drinking water in the room. However water for drinking and hot water was provided on request, and the staff are very prompt in answering this request. Overall, excellent. We will stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Bien placé mais veillissant"
Positionnement satisfaisant à proximité du centre .Hôtel d'architecture art-déco avec du cachet , mais vieillissant et nécessitant une réfection. Chambre avec climatisation trop bruyante et sentant l'humidité.Accueil agréable.Bien pour un court passage ,insuffisant pour un séjour prolongé.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
