Metro station is right outside hotel. You can hear the trains, but it's not that loud. Bed was hard, but hotel was beautiful and you got free wifi.

Hotel was conveniently located 1 1/2 blocks away from the airport shuttle-bus drop-off spot at plaza catalunya. The front desk employees were cordial, efficient, and direct (to some it may seem that they are surly, but that is the way the Spanish are, take it or leave it). They have bellhops and porters for your convenience (many pretend 4 star hotels are starting to skimp on these). We had good wifi signal in our room. Our room was large, comfortable bed, big closets, flatscreen tv with cable, minibar and safe. The bathroom was very large for european standards, the essentials plus double sink and a bidet. The location is superb, 1 1/2 away from Gaudi's Casa Batlló, 1 1/2 away from Plaza Catalunya, Las Ramblas and the Gothic district. Metro station 30ft. away. Front desk arranged all the tickets we needed for shows, dinner and tours. Would definitely stay here again. Read more

This is one of the most terrible hotels I has ever stayed in. The first thing is the front desk staff is rude and incompetent. We also did not have heat in our room and after we complained about it to the front desk person He said he would call someone in to look at it and a course no one came to look at it. It was freezing in the room and Barecelona […] got down to 3c that night. If we wanted to sleep anyway we could not also because of the noise in the room next to us which was being renovated in the night. Who was the idot manager who thought it was alright to do noisy work putting down carpet and painting in the middle of the night with guest next door and of course the front desk staff is to incompetent to do anything about it. Thanks for the great stay at your terrible hotel. Please feel free to read my postings on other websites about your hotel. Good location, staff not helpful. Stayed 5 nights, staff never gave me a second tiny bar of soap. No a/c, heating also not turned on since hotel wanted to save money on electricity. You are better off staying at many of better hotels for equal price.

Hotel was really nice EXCEPT for three things. Bellman was very surly to us, ditto for male receptionist who shall go nameless but watch out for additional charges that were added to bill that we did not use; ie minibar charges , Internet charges etc. Also, do yourself a favor and avoid eating at hotel. Very expensive and NOT worth the money.

The Avenida is a very good choice. It is centrally located amongst a lot of activity, sights, and restaurants, yet feels safe. The room was comfortable and clean, a bit small, as European rooms tend to be, and we looked out at three brick walls. The staff was friendly and helpful. We wouold stay there again.

Ideal location if you want to see the Barcelona sites. Easily within walking distance, but metro/train is also extremely close. The only thing I didn't like was that the AC was not as cold as I like. This hotel was in a great lacation. Close to Las Romblas but not right on it. We were able to walk to most places we wanted to visit. The staff was helpful with restaurant suggestions that turned out to be excelent. There was one throwback to an older era. No electronic keys! My husband and I stayed at this hotel just for one night, but we LOVED it! The location was perfect! in a nice area close to the main streets. The staff was friendly, specially the ladies. The gentlemen at night time were though and unfriendly. We would stay again. The internet is NOT free except for 30 minutes in the lobby. The location is just about perfect with Metro and bus virtually at front door. Staff helpful and friendly but usually quite busy. Breakfast costs too much when compared to all the opportunities within a 4 or 5 minute walk.

Great location very close to Las Ramblas and the old part of the city, plus the buses to and from the airport. Friendly staff, checked us in 4 hours early (at noon vs 4pm) when we arrived. We did not need them much, but the staff spoke English and a variety of other languages. Beds were the only thing lacking. Clean sheets etc, but the bed was hard […] and the pillows were inadaquate. We had a great view from the 9th floor. You have to check in the keys when you leave, but we had no issue with that, at least we knew we wouldn't lose them! We would book again in a heartbeat. The location is great but the service was very poor. The hitting was not working; we asked them to fix it but noting was done. They give only tick blanket in the winter and we were real cold. This hotel is situated in a very good location . The hotel Rooms are clean and specious with large bathrooms. You can get to this hotel by using the Airport Bus T1 or T2 , the hotel is walking distance ( 5 minutes) from the airport bus drop offs in the Catalunya square. There are two types of the rooms in this hotel , one with windows facing towards […] the street and the other has windows facing towards the narrow shaft with no views. This hotel is not a 4 star hotel as the typical amenities you expect from 4 star hotel are not included. This hotel advertise free Wi-Fi , be aware that they only allow 30 minutes access to Wi-Fi in the Hotel Lobby, and if you ever need to use Hotel business center, you would need to pay ( for 10 minutes access they charge 5 Euro). Also be aware when you ask the front desk for recommendation for restaurants, they usually send you to the places that the hotel staff deal with and these places are usually more expensive with low quality food. La Vaca Paca Café-Bufet is all -you can eat place which offers salad , meat, pizza, drinks and ice cream. It is located in Passeig de Gracia very close to this hotel – price per person is ~11 Euro, and the salad bar was good. Read more

The hotel was in a great location and the rooms were clean. The only problem was the rude people at the front desk. I asked if they had a concierge and they said they were all able to help. I asked one of the men behind the desk some advice on some sights to see and his response to me was to get out of the way because someone behind me wanted to check […] in. There were many great places to eat and when we asked for a recommendation they all recommended the same place. When we went by the place it was always empty. With all the restaurants in the neighborhood, they only wanted us to go to one. One of the front desk offered me a free glass of champagne if we went there for dinner. It felt as though they were being compensated for sending people there. When I asked them about other places that were recommended they always told us to go to that restaurant. Upon arrival, @8am, I was greeted by a very nice desk crew (male and female) and the doorman secured my bags in a locked room until my room was ready (@3pm). I went on a long walk of a fabulous area surrounding the hotel and then to the Sagrada Familia. A great walk!! Upon my return, went to my room (9th floor) which was rather warm with the sun baking […] on the window side of the room. As I opened the curtain, I found the a great view of the neighboring building's roof and air conditioners...and that's all I could see. I sat on my bed which felt like a bunch of springs with a little bit of padding. Glad I was only staying for a day. In the mean time, I called down to the front desk and spoke with a not so friendly female worker about getting internet. I learned that the only free internet was in the lobby. When I went down to the lobby, that same female was stunning miserable to people ahead of me and certainly not pleasant to me...despite my friendliness and smile. If there was anything that would make me not come back it would have been her. Overall...hmmmm....I would try the hotel again but certainly not in the room provided to me. hotel was excellent and I had trouble with my luggage from the pier - had wrong luggage and the Hotel manager called the ship and had them send my luggage by taxi and found out the luggage I had belonged to someone staying at a hotel 2 blocks away and they wanted to have the taxi pick up the luggage and charge me to have it delivered and the hotel manager […] walked it over to the other hotel so I would not be charged and told me to go to my room and relax and when my luggage arrived they would pay the taxi and I could reimburse them.
