Andaz Liverpool Street - a Hyatt Hotel

We visited London to spend a week with our daughter who is studying abroad. In hindsight, the Andaz was simply perfect. Where do I begin? Free snacks, lattes in the lobby, central location right by the Liverpool stop, serene environment, super-friendly and helpful staff. This is primarily a business hotel so not a place I would necessarily take small […] children, but if you are looking for an adult getaway for business or pleasure, I can't think of a better choice. Pricey but they make you feel like you are at home. Receition in lobby is great and there are always free drinks and snacks for you and your guests.Free snacks and drinks in the room also. Right around the corner from the station. However, the signage is terrible. I walked right by it three times.

I only stayed here for one night as it was a quick stop over for meeting family and friends. The Hotel itself was luxurious, room and bathroom were clean, modern, and well maintained. If you like modern hip hop atmosphere, then this is the one for you. It is not a 5 star hotel in a traditional luxury sense, but it is a 5 star hotel in a very different way. The hotel was terrific. The rooms were clean, and nicely decorated. The whole place was very modern. The restaurants were great. There was 24 hour room service and the menu was full of great choices. But it was too far on the other side of London from the airport (Heathrow) and any place we wanted to go. The tube station was right there but if we wanted […] to take cabs, the cost was huge. Also, the drive to and from the airport was very long and there was a lot of traffic each way. For someone remaining in the financial district this is a great choice, but not for a tourist family. The hotel is right next to the Liverpool station which gave us easy access for traveling through the city. On the first night our room was too warm and the front desk staff could not have been more helpful. The problem was quickly resolved. Everyone was so attentivel and polite. Stayed over Valentine's weekend. Very chic hotel with efficient and unique check in by very smart and friendly staff. Lovely spotlessly clean double room with tea-making facilities, free soft drinks and tit-bits in the fridge. Lounge area in the main lobby also has a free self service coffee, biscuits and soft drink facility. Breakfast is available […] at the front of the hotel, but we never used it as the pub directly across the street offered two large English breakfasts, including fruit juice and tea or coffee for £10. The hotel location couldn't be better with Liverpool Street station next door giving direct access to the Stanstead Express and the Circle Line on the underground. A £7 Day Pass gives unlimited travel throughout central London. Spidalfields market is about a five minute walk away with numerous restaurants and stalls. Slightly further away is the Borough market on the other bank of the Thames which is well worth a visit. Within easy walking distance is also St. Paul's cathedral, the millennium bridge, the Tate gallery and the Tower of London. Read more

I chose the Andaz Liverpool Steet as I had enjoyed a fantastic stay at the Andaz West Hollywood in October 2012. On the up side, Andaz Liverpool Street has a great location, and a friendly and assistant staff. On the downside, the rooms are smaller than what I what I experienced in their sister hotel, and the decor more conventional. The view from […] my window was of a wall about 3 meters away. As always, the complimentary minibar and (good) wireless internet kept the standard up. Housekeeping was exemplary. The bathroom decor was good, however Andaz Liverpool Street fail the shower test, with water being either scalding or ice cold, and nothing in between. (However this is seemingly an impossibility for most other four star hotels to achieve also). I asked reception for restaurant recommendations and they made a reservation for me and my friend. On arrival at the restaurant, there was no record of the reservation. We had to dine elsewhere. Overall, if choosing a hotel in the Liverpool Street area again, I would opt for Apex London Wall. (Superior service, larger bathrooms with showers that work, better value for money). Andaz Liverpool Street should, for their price, offer a more modern alternative decor, reliable variable shower temperature, and be able to re-confirm dinner reservations. We were pleasently surprised by how close to the station thisd hotel was, the staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived. the room was clean and comfortable with complimentory drinks/ snacks. the breakfast staff however let the hotel down, we felt that it is not child friendly if you have younger children. It is aimed at adults. It also had the […] fell of being a littel to 'serious' I think it would be better if the stafff were a littel more relaxed it all felt a bit up tight. We stayed in the Andaz as we were attending a Wedding nearby. The staff were welcoming and efficient on our arrival and we were able to access our room early. At all times we felt we were in safe hands. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean and warm. Just a shame the Bose dock was not the type that charged my iPhone.

it's a beautiful hotel, with incredibly friendly staff and lovely rooms, I've not experienced service like it in a big hotel in the UK. The bar downstairs was amazing too. But despite the lovely room and comfy bed, I hardly slept because the room was too hot - the window is fixed, the AC unit ineffectual and the heating wouldnt turn down. I didnt […] realise until about 2am and didnt see the point of calling the front desk, the AC was on max already and there wasnt much they could have done. A shame, because it's a lovely hotel. A superb contemporary hotel. Fabulous staff - nothing was too much trouble. The twin bedroom was luxuriously appointed with supersoft beds. The lighting was a bit of a mystery but we cracked it in the end. Unfortunately our 5th floor view was a brick wall of the internal courtyard so rather disappointing and we couldn't get twin rooms together - they […] were 3 floors apart - but otherwise everything in the room was excellent. Sunday morning breakfast was a leisurely affair with every appetite catered for although the 40 or so stairs to reach the dining room were difficuot for my 86 year old mother. A lift to the dining would be helpful. My 14 and 15 year old children were particularly taken with the specially cooked pancakes and blueberries and the free soft drink minibar in the room! Reception was unusual, no desk, but it worked well. Coffee on arrival while details taken and room explained. Local amenities were discussed. All in all, the best reception I have experienced. Soft drinks in minbar were complimentary. The only disappointment was the "typical English pub". No real beers! Even checkout was extremely well organised.
