"Not the best experience"
Our room was not ready when we got there. We had to wait for 2 hours before it was ready. We was on the 10th floor and there was a party going on in the banquet room and it was extremely loud until almost 2 am. So much for a quiet romantic evening out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right place!"
My Husband and I wanted a clean comfortable place to stay for Thunder Over Louisville. The Seelbach fit the bill. While small, the room was charming and neatly kept. Our breakfast room service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Anniversary"
It was our 27 wedding anniversary. We booked first night with the hotel and 2nd with hotel dot com Could not get out of the 2 night with more than 24 hours notice. The room was a king bed. They were doing construction at the main entrence of hotel, so hard to find. Checked in nice lobby, got to room and had to step in bathroom to walk in and close the […] door. Room so small you had to turn sideways to get passed bed and TV to get to bathroom. Complained at front desk and they said they would look for another room for us for tomorrow. But I could not get out of paying for 2nd night because I booked online. They did move us to a larger room in front of hotel, noise from 4th street live all night and woke up by jackhammer early morning made that night worse than the first. I have a SUV so I had to pay for the parking at a pay lot which expires at 0001 am . Or pay $ $so they could do it for me, same lot. Watching hotel TV noticed that they had a pecan desert with Burbon ice cream. So next day ordered the desert which cost $$ per they don't even have ice cream in the hotel? What!! Any way I would not recommend this hotel to anyone at all! Too much money too little in return. Oh and the bottom floor smelled bad! Like sewage. The staff were nice for the most part except for when I was making my reservation, I was trying to get the second night added they deleted the entire reservation...I guess that was an omen. The street the hotel is on was under construction, not hotel's fault but it made it a little more difficult to navigate to/from the hotel. The service was great, the room was perfect except we didn't have a garbage can in the bathroom. Little annoying. Otherwise, excellent hotel and stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved the stay, however the full beds are alittle small and the mattresses bowed in the middle...uncomfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent"
I stayed overnight after partying with friends at 4th street live for my 30th bday. Location was very convenient since we couldn't drive home. Hotel itself was amazing. The room was perfect. It was pricey but well worth it. Will definitely stay again if the need arises.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location and Beautiful Historic Hotel"
We truly enjoyed our visit to Louisville and our stay at the Seelbach Hilton. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a wonderful historic ambience. The location is fabulous, we parked our car when we arrived and didn't get in it again till it was time to leave town. We walked to concerts, theatre performances, museums, and restaurants. Other than […] the freezing cold weather, which, unfortunately the hotel couldn't control, we had a perfect first visit to Louisville. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Elegance downtown"
I love the Seelbach; always my first choice in Louisville. Because it's an older hotel, the rooms are somewhat small, but very comfortable, and the staff couldn't be nicer or more attentive. The location on Fourth Street is great -- close to lots of restaurants and bars, although the Oakroom at the Seelbach itself is also a favorite of mine. Definitely […] a good choice! "Love this hotel"
Wonderful historic hotel in Louisville right next to Fourth Street and other great nightlife. The rooms I've been in here are a bit small, but the bed is very comfortable, big TV, nice bathroom. If you get a chance, make a reservation at The Oakroom for a lovely meal. We are coming back next week and are so disappointed the Seelbach is full, but that's […] just how great a hotel it is! Don't expect modern luxuries with this historic hotel; rooms and bathrooms are very small. It is located in the heart of the city and is very accessible to many nice restaurants and attractions.Staff and service were excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Almost good."
Booking though hotels.com, we asked for the nicest suite. Upon arrival, we found that if was not. They had a much nicer suite, but hotels.com isn't on top of their game and did not know this. Now to the hotel. Beautiful lobby. Decent rooms. Service? A joke. We realized there was a larger suite because the offered an upgrade for royally dropping the […] ball. Bar: closed early for low occupancy Room service for $200 bottle of wine +21% service fee: closed for low occupancy So I confronted the manager saying: Because you have fewer guests, you treat them worse? To which he agreed was illogical and comped us a larger suite. The suite was great. He also offered free Starbucks and breakfast vouchers. I took them. The next morning, you guessed it. Closed for low occupancy. Ha! We were upset and ready to leave. So I had them ring the valet. He was unavailable. Upon his return, I had him just give me the keys. Guess why. They never parked the stinking car! $25 to NOT park my Mercedes. Awesome. Needless to say, we won't come back and don't recommend you do either. Well done gents. "Great Place and Location, Could use King Beds!"

"Beautiful Hotel-- Disappointing Visit"
We have stayed at the Seelbach several times before and were always very pleased. In the past, we found the hotel to be charming. This visit, however, was disappointing. The room we were given was extremely small. The rooms at the Seelbach are usually smaller than standard, which I personally think adds to the charm. This room, however, was much smaller […] than the other standard rooms we stayed in before. The greatest disappointment was with the shower. The door to the shower was only 11 inches wide (yes, we measured it!). It was very difficult to get in/out of the shower. We had to turn sideways and still got poked by the corner of the sink upon exiting. I don't understand how this can be considered "standard", when even a "standard" guest would have trouble. The noise level in the hallways was also high, and we endured a barking dog most of the night. We shared our disappointment upon leaving. In addressing the shower situation, we were told that no two rooms are exactly the same, due to the architecture of the hotel; some are larger and some are smaller. We were offered some free coffee for our trouble. Won't stay again unless these issues can be addressed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Cozy Upscale Hotel Right Downtown"
This hotel is in the block right next to 4th Street Live, which is a great downtown area with a wide variety of venues, such as Sports and Social Club (contains a bowling alley) and Gordons Bier (is a brewery). We found the location to be perfect and staff friendly. The bartender at the Seelbach Bar introduced us to the Urban Bourbon Trail and provided […] us with a "Bourbon Passport" that contained maps of nearby bars serving bourbon. We used it to visit 6 of them to get our passport stamps then a free t-shirt. The room was small but adequate/cozy with upscale furnishings and clean. Will definitely stay here again when we go back next year. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A fun place to visit, but don't stay overnight"
After reading that this hotel was a 4 Diamond luxury hotel I was sold; however, I prefer cleanliness to lavish history. The story of the Seelbach is interesting, but when I got to my room and settled in I wondered why this place is so popular. The room looked clean. And it's understandable a hotel built in the early 1900's probably should have a musk […] to it. However, once I jumped into bed, the white duvet cover had a black hair on it (that did not belong to me). Understandable, people clean the room and hair falls out, but it caused me to question the overall cleanliness of the room. The bathroom was *mostly* clean. The toilet paper roll on the wall must have been dropped or doused with some sort of brown liquid (use your imagination), because it had dried to a light brown color. Keep in mind, I chose this hotel mostly due to location. I was in town for a concert at the Palace down the street. It was nice to be able to walk around the area and not have to rely on transportation. I liked Louisville, but when I come back I will find a more modern and clean hotel. "WONDERFUL!"
Loved the hotel! The bed and pillows were soooooo comfy! The staff was very helpful with making recommendations for dinner! Hotel was barely a half a block away from 4th Street Live and was within easy walking distance of everything else! "Louisville's Best Hotel!"
Service and staff was excellent! The lobby, bar and restaurant have tremendous character and charm. The location is ideal for a tourist or business traveler. The free hotel shuttle made access to the airport worry-free! Being next to '4th Street Live' was wonderful, for entertainment value as well as a convenient 'address' to give cab drivers when not […] wanting to identify the hotel I am at. The room was of typical size for a hotel of its age, but would be considered 'smaller' than a comparable costing room at a newer hotel. Room renovations were well done, but the workmanship was not exceptional in our room #a cracked floor tile in the bathroom, faucet was crooked on the sink#. Regardless, I would recommend the hotel to friends and family. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"High quality, but a little stinky"
The hotel was beautiful, and the service was very good. Two things that could have made our experience better are: there need to be better signs and directions as to where to park while checking in. The building is hard to find, and then when you do find it, you feel like you are illegally parking while going through the check-out process. The second […] is the smell of the room. It wasn't dirty, or gross... just odd. The hotel and halls were fine, but when you open the door to the room, the smell was very noticeable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
""This is a great historic hotel.""
It was easy to check in and the room was ready. The hotel was close to where I wanted to go. It is almost right by Four Street Live. My boyfriend and I had a great time. Since the hotel is an older one, the rooms are a bit small, but we only stayed a night so it was sufficient. I would recommend this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Small but elegant"
I didn't feel like my room was cleaned very well. There was a tissue stuck in our peep hole that the cleaning crew missed, it was the first thing I saw as I closed the door. The location is nice and close to 4th street but in all honesty I'd rather spend the extra cash and stay at the 21c.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice anniversary get away"
Extremely beautiful interior lobby and guest room. Parking is not exactly the best. Hope for an open spot in the free garage nearby or pay $21 to stay in their lot.
