As you can tell the location of this hotel CANNOT be beat. To the left of Mallory Square, you are in the FRONT row for the spectacular sunsets that grace the Florida Keys. Even with this excellent location you are a bit removed from the excitement of Duval Street, but easily within walking distance. The hotel is next to the aquarium, across the street from the Mel Fisher museum, and a few steps from the John Audubon house. With such a great location and the reputation of the Westin I did expect a bit more from the condition of the room. The furniture was a bit worn-dings and tears in the chair seats. Several of the towels had stains or were fraying. They do charge a fee for self-parking or valet parking which did add to the cost of the trip. This doesn't bother me enough to say I would not go back, as a matter of fact I WOULD and I shared this constructive criticism with the hotel. So if you are looking for a fantastic location, I suggest you try the Westin!

The suite was fabulous. I highly recommend the property for location and ease of use. However, the service needs some improvement. The in-room mini bar was NEVER replenished our entire stay...5 days. The room service door menu was only available on day #1, after that we had to call each morning for room service. Several mistakes were made on our morning room service orders and we ordered the EXACT same thing each day?! The housekeeping was only average and very delayed...some days it was not cleaned until well after 3pm.

well ... mixed emotions ... nice hotel. clean. elegant. great location. nice marine. small pool for this class of hotel and price but clean and nice. nice front desk service, but charging you for internet and parking in a hotel this level is absurd. Was the same at westin seattle. Also, incredably, an idiot knock my door 8am just to make sure i am leaving that morning the hotel. They should fire this people at once. Who the hell knock the door at 8am a sunday to just check you plan to leave the room... !!! First time that this happens to me .. The hotel is nice, but is too expensive in my opinion. If price is not your limitation go ahead with this one. Ahhh ... the food quality is very good. nice breakfast. eloy, miami

My first trip to the keys and also my first stay at a westin. Complimentary wifi but 20$/day parking. Location was great - at the end of duval street with easy walking to everywhere. Hotel was very clean and nice with great shopping within hotel grounds and within easy walking distance. No really beaches within walking distiance, but only a couple of miles away are a couple of beaches that are nice - but not any better than elsewhere. The pool is pretty small - although well maintained and there is a shuttle that goes to a restort island (for the beaches) that is only 20$ per person but you have to get to the desk at 8 am to buy the tickets and they are limited. The rooms were imaculate and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, also there was no noise at all and you can put on your door tag which time block you want the room cleaned in, so you can sleep in and still get a room refresh. The view from the room was nice (partial ocean) and that is the end of the island where people watch the sunsets. All over a nice stay. If you're looking for a key west hotel stay it has to be one of the best. It was easy to drive to from miami, parking was easy in their multi story parking lot and you can leave and come back anytime you like.

Although we were only able to stay one night at the Westin, we truly enjoyed it. The room was clean, front desk was very helpful and professional. The only thing we noticed is that the hotel used a strong air freshner or cleaner in the room. It wasn't unpleasant, just a little overwhelming, especially to my husband, who is very sensitive to scented air freshners.

I would highly recommend staying at this Westin. My boyfriend (now fiancee because he proposed on the balcony off our room) and I loved the location! We are very familiar and in love with Westins and this site met all of our expectations. I arrived on my birthday and was given an upgraded room just for asking. Our balcony faced the marina and the sight of the cruise ships and crystal clear ocean was spectacular (and made the proposal just as spectacular!) Thank you for making our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. I'm a snob when it comes to my choice of hotels and this one exceeded my expectations. The location was in the heart of Mallory Square, a very short walk to Duval street. We were in the middle of everything and on the water at the sametime. However, it's not for people looking for the atypical Key West B&B, it is definetely a high quality resort. I will go back, I loved it!

I wanted to give my aging parents a treat in Key West by reserving at one of the most expensive hotels with an "ocean view". This hotel was far too expensive for what we got. They claimed ocean views and I assumed there were ocean views from the rooms. There were only a couple of rooms on the first floor that overlooked the deck overlooking the ocean. I asked for an ocean view room when I made my reservation but of course as soon as we checked in, we were told all those rooms were taken. The hotel is old and you had to walk a mile to get to the building where our room was located and then had to walk through convulted hallways to finally get to the room. My parents had trouble walking but we had no choice. Even though it was a non-smoking hotel, the room smelled like someone smoked in it. The only pleasant experience was the sunset deck but we could have got there even without staying at the hotel. Even a cup of coffee in the restaurant downstairs was expensive.

When we checked in, we were first given an old, dark room supposedly by the pool. But it was awful and we couldn't even see the pool. They are renovating rooms but this badly needed some attention. We complained that this was NOT acceptable. To the credit of the young woman at the front desk, she immediately upgraded us to a suite on the 4th floor with a partial ocean view. There was no additional charge for the upgrade and we were VERY happy!
