Our trip to Seattle was for a concert at Qwest Field. We chose this motel based on the reviews we read on hotels.com and weren't sure what we would find when we got there. We were pleasantly surprised to find an attractive, updated, new building and a very nice room. We arrived early and asked the lady at the front desk if we could check in early. She checked us in several hours ahead of time without hesitation. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were also surprised to find out that Northgate Mall is just north of the motel along with some nice restaurants and a movie theater. We will defintely stay here again when we come to Seattle.

This motel wasn't the worst we have stayed in and our complaints were not major ones. The cable in our room kept losing the signal while we were watching a movie. We found that very irritating. Our other complaint is that the continental breakfast lacked quite a bit and the eating area was extremely tiny. You had a choice of sugar and carbohydrate laden items and a banana. It would have been great to have a protein of some sort offered. We probably wouldn't stay here again.

Everything about the hotel was great for the price except it is located on the corner of 2 busy streets and a traffic light. It was often after 2:00 am before the noise of motorcycles accelerating from a stop finally ended long enough for me to fall asleep. Also, a small back window without blackout shades lets light in from street lamps and night and sun in the morning. My only other caveat is that the breakfast has no protein beyond milk. The fresh fruit was great.

The Travelodge is apparently in a formerly seedy area (hence the requirement that all guests present I.D.'s "in case the police show up for a disturbance call" which reportedly "used to happen" but the neighborhood is improving. It seems it is; we have no such complaints and it's very convenient to Green Lake which is a recreation oasis on the north side of Seattle -- 15 or so water and field activities going on and good restaurants, etc. in the area. I'd go back just to spend more time at the lake.

We were completely disappointed in the stay at Travel lodge (Aurora) this is not located in the best part of town. My wife booked the room because it was about $10 -$15 cheaper then anything else. When we arrived to the Motel (this is not a hotel) we were in line to a couple of locals trying to rent a room for the hour. The building it self is older and is set up so every room faces the parking lot so you can see if your vehicle is being broke into. It was hard to sleep and have the TV volume compete with cars racing up and down the road and car stereo systems blasting through the night. Travel lodge does how ever offer a complementary breakfast which includes frosted flakes and orange juice not much else. We felt real uncomfortable eating breakfast here because the breakfast happens to be in the office (50 SQFT of space) were people check in and check out. The Front desk lady will stand over you and watch you eat every bite making you feel very uncomfortable. If you are thinking about staying at the travel lodge in Aurora, please spend the extra money somewhere else.

My son and I went to Seattle for a weekend, and this was a great choice for a place to stay. It is a little ways out of downtown, but the neighborhood was quiet and safe with groceries and a few restaurants nearby, and downtown was just five minutes drive. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. I would definitely stay again!

Great hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, bed was not noisy if you know what I mean. Downtown is not within walking distance, but it took 10 minutes or less driving. Only downside was checkout at 11am, as opposed to 12 like most other hotels. It turned out being a good thing though, since we had a little extra time to go out and explore Seattle.

When I checked out the next morning and other rooms were open for cleaning, it looked as if all of the rooms had kitchenettes.

The hotel itself was not that bad, but there are some sketchy characters in the neighborhood. The fitted sheet was too small for the bed and our room didn't even have an iron. I got the feeling that this is the type of hotel that people live in and is not often used by out-of-town travelers. Even though we didn't pay that much I still felt like this hotel was overpriced for what we did pay.

It's clean and quiet. The location is several miles from the heart of Seattle, although the bus that picks up in front of the hotel apparently takes you to the core of downtown (I had a car rental). The immediate neighborhood is a little rough around the edges, but I felt safe. There are restaurants and grocery stores within a few minutes if you have a car. About a mile away is a great lake if you like to go jogging while on your trip...the area around the lake is very nice and has some nice spots to check out. Depending on the nature of your trip, this can be a good place to stay.

It was an interesting stay. It ended up working out for us, but there were a million ways that it could have ruined things. The room backed up to the local Jack-in-the-Box and so we could hear the muffled drive-thru conversations until about 11 pm. Happily, Jack-in-the-Box isn't the most popular breakfast stop, which kept our morning a bit more peaceful. On our second night in the room there were picketers in front of the motel citing health code violations from an establishment that belonged to the same owners. They apparently also own another motel on Aurora that was more of a residential motel and the violations forced the residents to move. The picketers were upset that the motel didn't assist with relocation costs. You make what you want of the scenario. Lastly, if you want a nice place to stay, it seems that you might want to steer away from Aurora altogether. It's a bit less scenic and more seedy than most other parts of Seattle.

The hotel was clean and the staff was nice, but the neighborhood left a lot to be desired. The Jack in the Box right by the hotel room kept us hungry and awake all night, since the drive thru window was literally so close we could have ordered from the room. Other than that and the fact that that area is being 'cleaned up' by the police for the crime and prostitution that is prominent there, as long as you didn't go out after dark it was nice.

Service was not the best - no extra pillows or towels, but very convenient on hwy 99. We saw blood on the carpet but could not change rooms as hotel had no vacancy.
