I went with 5 of my girlfriends for a relaxing get-away. The resort was beautiful in a fabulous location and we were only approached about timeshare information when we intially arrived but then never bothered again for the 5 days were were there. Our room was amazing (2 bedroom suite)and the staff was very friendly - everyone from the pool concierge to the front desk staff. The breakfast buffet was amazing and reasonably priced as was the food at the poolside restaurant! I have no complaints and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

When my wife and I travel we have a checklist of things that we look for in our hotels. The Casa Dorado had every one of the things we look for and then some, but the one thing that we have taken for granted - great staff and staff with a service orientation - is what the Casa Dorado was missing. It got to the point where we didn't want to head to the beach because we knew that we were going to be hassled about going to the time share presentation. If the staff had been more focused on assisting guests as opposed to the commission from getting guests to go to the presentation, this would have been a great hotel and experience.

My girlfriend and I were ver impressed with everything at Casa Dorada. Maybe because it was the beginning of the low season, or because a lot of people cancelled due to fears of Hurricane Jimena, but we got upgraded from what we expected to be a 480 s.f. room to one that was closer to 900 s.f. All rooms seem to have great views of the ocean. The service was excellent in the restaurants, bars, at the pool and on the beach. The location can't be beat as it sits directly on a beautiful part of Medano beach and right next to a few small restaurants/bars. And it's only a 5-10 minute walk to the marina and town. Food in the restaurants and room service was very good and pretty affordable. And the onsite gym is the best I've ever seen at a hotel. The only downside is being harassed by people wanting you to do "time share tours". If you go into it knowing you'll be hit up and you're prepared to say no, the rest of the experience will be fabulous.

We booked a deluxe oceanview room 4 months in advance at the Casa Dorada. Upon arrival we were escorted to room #107, which actually sits below pool level and has no view what so ever of the ocean. The only view we had was of peoples feet walking around the pool. I immediately complained and was told I would have to wait since there was nothing else available for spring break weekend. I went to the general manager and asked they call Hotels.com for me since I was leaving immediately. Amazingly after a one hour wait they found us the deluxe ocean view room I had originally reserved. We talked to two other couples that weekend that had been given the same room #107 before they complained. Sorry, do it right the first time.

Casa Dorada is a beautiful property that is very new and sits on arguably the "best" beach in Los Cabos. Not only is it impeccably maintained with beautiful rooms, pools and amenities, it is adjacent to several great beach bars, including "The Office at the Beach." Proximity to harbor and down town (three block walk) and panoramic views make this hotel unbeatable. No need to rent a car, your close enough to the action to walk where ever you need to go. Two opportunities for the management: More ice machines (we found only one and it was not convenient), and more flexibilty / options for late check out when return flights are delayed significantly. Overall, I highly recommend this property

I just returned from Casa Dorada and couldn;t be happier with my choicxe of hotels. The location is perfect and the hotel is beautiful. My daughter was sick during check in and later that night the front desk sent a personalized cake to my room with a note written in chocalate frosting wishing my daughter a speedy recovery. Very nice. The room was big and very well laid out. The view was beautiful and the food was reasonablt priced for a hotel. If you hhave a chance to the marina area and look for Taco Inn. Great authentic food for half of the price. Some of the best tasting mexican food I've had.

The hotel rooms were beautiful as were the grounds but there was one big problem which I am assuming is a problem no matter which hotel you are in in Cabo. My sons left their patio door open one night and a giant flying wasp, at least 4-5 inches long flew in and landed on my son's back. I know it was that big because I saw one in the lobby another night. Do not leave your patio doors open at night.

The hotel itself is in acceptable condition and staff is friendly, but this is in no way a 5-star hotel. 3-star is a more accurate description. The noise separation between rooms is terrible and the sounds from the pool area (especially the incessant evening power-washing of the pool deck) and the beach clubs pumping out loud music are mind-numbing. You won't want to have your sliding glass door open very often. If you are seeking a (painfully) family-friendly resort where your kids can run wild while you turn a blind eye (and ear) at the pool bar, this is the place. If you, like me, are looking for a relaxing, peaceful place to stay overlooking the water... go somewhere else. Pronto. On the upside, the food was fair and the location for access to downtown and the Marina was great (safe and easily walkable). The gym was well-maintained and equipped. Overall, I would call this hotel roughly equivalent to a Hampton Inn on the beach.

This hotel has a great location behind popular Cabo restaurants, and was right in the middle of the action, yet wasn't too noisy. The management was very accomodating, and the hotel and its grounds were clean, new and beautiful. The only negative was that the hot tub turned people blue or green for some reason when they leaned against the walls! Despite that, we really loved it here and would stay here again. One warning: people put their towels out on pool chairs early in the morning, so during peak season it is difficult to find a chair. Management said that if no one was sitting there, we could put our own stuff out, but we didn't want to get into fights on our vacation! It ended up that we always found a chair, but we had to resort to taking the towels to the room at night and putting them out by 8 a.m. like everyone else! Also, like everywhere else in Cabo, the hotel will bug you to buy a timeshare. We ignored them and refused to go to the "welcome" meeting, which was really a timeshare pitch. Don't believe them when they tell you it will take only 75 minutes.
