This hotel was much better than we needed for a quick nights stay before a morning flight. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was large and clean. We had plenty of options for dinner in the area and we were also able to fit in a quick visit to the pool which was outdoors and heated. Too bad we couldn't stay longer. The Intercontinental is a good hotel located very conveniently off the express way. You can walk to shopping and very good restaurants and the neighborhood behind is great for walks. Great get away spot.

Stayed here for a 4 night business trip. Overall the hotel was good and met my needs. Only two minor complaints. 1. The shower drain was extremely clogged, after 5 minutes in the shower I was halfway up my calf in undrained water. 2. My room was a bit noisy from the elevator motor. Every time the elevator moved I could here the motor kick on and off. […] My room was the 2nd room down the hallway from the elevator. My stay was wonderful. The staff at the check-in kiosks were the best I have encountered...friendly, professional and "a can-do" attitude. The room was very comfortable and the food service was good. The hotel is located near the interstate. This was a first time stay which proved to be a good choice. I will stay again.

Outstanding from the moment I checked in to the minute I left. Convenient free parking. Delicious in-room meal and fast delivery, well appointed and beautifully decorated room, upscale bath amenities. Deliciously thirsty towels. Across from a fashion mall with excellent stores. Close to TPA. I'll be back!

Admit high expectation for an Intercontinental. Bath clogged on arrival. They sent maintenance quick, very nice fellow, but bath still clogged after 'fix'. Showerhead was absolutely disgusting and would not stay in place. TV had random jerky picture time to time. Tables had water spots. Just lived with it, will never choose to stay here again.

The hotel was excellent and located in a great area. It was within walking distance of a very upscale mall and several very nice restaurants. The restaurants ranged from moderate to upscale - a choice for every type of pocket book. The neighborhood was excellent, and the location was excellent for a pre-cruise stay. Really enjoyed our stay. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was great. Our room on 7th floor was clean and comfortable. No complaints at all. We'll stay there again next time we cruise out of Tampa. It's within walking distance to everything you need and only a short cab ride from airport and cruise port.

I go to Tampa for business twice a month and stay for a week at a time. I've stayed and most hotels in Westshore area and find this is the best one. Very clean, great simple/classy decor, larger spaces (both room and bath), great service, decent gym (La Fitness is nearby regardless if you don't like their gym), Mall is across the street, great food […] (some healthy) options around (Whole Foods, Seasons52, Palms, Starbucks, Panera, etc), very 'businessy'. If their rates were always inexpensive I would stay here every time I came to Tampa. The only 'con' would be parking. Not only because it costs a few bucks, but also because its in a parking garage shared with the office building and unless you are always there after 5:30pm you will have to park a few floors up (elevator solves it.. but it goes down to lobby first, THEN take another elevator to rooms... honestly, not a big deal since you can stop by the bar for a drink on the way up and enjoy their Happy Hour) I would recommend this to anyone. The only thing i would have liked to see was a better selection of morning food items in the lobby. Like yogurt with brand in a cup, and other easy item to take back to the room...plus it was somewhat slow, even though the one person there seemed to be working very fast...but a good hotel

We checked in around 3 PM on Thursday and was assigned to a room on the 6th floor just adjacent to the elevator. When we asked the staff who assigned us to this room and was told that " I can't be removed to another room because I made my reservation one day before my arrival". It was a worst night we have had. The elevator motor was kept going on and […] off entire night with other noise from hallway. Next day when we told the staff about our bad experience and only got "sorry for that". Hotel room was very nicely decorated, the bed was extremely comfortable But,The Loud slamming doors was so unbelievably discourteous and Truly made sleeping impossible! There was also no Hot water for the shower I Tried to take. Nice stay as to location but probably won't happen again.

The room decoration and furniture is very nice but the noise level in the hotel is almost intolerable. The hotel rooms were redecorated a few years ago however, they did not upgrade/change the main entry door which lets in a lot of noise and light. For example, I rolled up a towel and placed it at the bottom threshold of the entry door and the next […] morning, I did not have to remove the towel to open the door. That's too big of a gap. Also, I could hear the cleaning crew through my interior room for the main lobby. Maybe I was just given a very poor room location because I used the unpublished rate. Read more
