    Occidental Grand Xcaret All Inclusive
We were a family of 5 and booked two rooms for 7 days, and got very unprofessional treatment from the resort. "The Occidental Grand looks amazing but our experience was far from it. 1. At the time of arrival the reception was rude by the front desk. 2. The resturants were programmed to not let guests eat. The 11 restaurants actually function as 1 buffet place, as the hotel rules are designed not to let guests eat at the resturants. 3. Every restaurant was 60% empty and would not allow guests in on a 'prior booked' scam. We sat in a resturant with 20% occupancy and saw the staff refuse entry to 5 guests - very unprofessional, lousy customer service policy. We were in the restuarant for over 2 hours. 4. The recommendations of the Customer Services department lacked local knowledge and always took the 'go on our packaged tour' approach. 5. In our room the sink fell down (we have a photograph if required) and we had to change our room at 11pm. It took the hotel 2 hours to chenage our room. Our replacement room had lousy air-conditioning. Most hotels would have upgraded an experience like this but Xcaret excelled with ignorance of 'normal customer service, Overall the staff spoke little english (when we called the gotel for directions they could not locate an english speaker). The beach is dismal, the rooms airconditioning is faulty and the overall Mexican hospitality is replaced with Xcaret arrogance and rudeness. My best recommendatuion is if you are looking for a holiday look at another hotel as this one is too arrogant and dismal....More
