Sixty Two on Grey
Through perhaps no fault of its own, and possibly due to the fact that city and suburbs have identical street names, but the Google map attached to the web site gave directions to 62 Grey in E. Melbourne, not St. Kilda, so we were left stranded on the street in E. Melbourne. When we finally discovered the error, and after much frustrating delay, we had little problem finding the hotel. Our room was clean, adequate, but the big disappointment was the balcony, which had very high, concrete walls surrounding the entire balcony leaving us with only a view of the tops of buildings that were taller than our third floor. It should also be noted that this hotel has no staff on site, we never had face-to-face contact with anyone, and this would have been catastrophic for us, coming from out of the country into a city we were not at all familiar with, had it not been for our consistency in trying to confirm the reservation and requesting checkin instructions, all of which was finally achieved one day before our arrival....More

Parkview Hotel St Kilda Road
The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was the below ground parking spaces. The area was quite small, and I felt fortunate that I got in and out without scraping my car on the wall or other cars.
The hotel restaurant was great, good prices, delicious food, and staffed well.
The concierge was very helpful in directions and hints to use public transportation.
This is a thumbs up. Thanks....More

The hotel changed its name from The Marque Hotel to Urban. We had a difficult time finding it since our cab driver wasn't aware of the name/ownership change.
Our room was small, with 2 twin beds. It was alright for us since we were rarely in the room. The hallways are narrow.
On a positive note, the hotel did offer 2 iMacs in the lobby with free internet access. That was a good bonus....More
