    Alloggi Agli Artisti
Though we paid extra for the private bathroom, it wasn't connected to the bedroom so we still had to lock/unlock while we went down the hall to the bathroom. The room and bathroom seemed cleaner than the cramped entrance and narrow stairway. Light but filling breakfast which consisted of croissants and cappuccinos. Thus: fine for a one-night stay but if we were spending any longer in Venice, we would prefer a hotel with less "hostel" accommodations....More

I liked that you can reach the hotel directly throught the water taxi off the canal. We stayed in the annex. The bed was nice and firm. A great nights sleep. Nice and close to St. Marks Square....More

We just got back from Italy, and unfortunately, Venice was the biggest let down. We got a deluxe room so that we could get a canal view. Turns out that means you get a room at water level where you can't open the windows or you will have people looking into your room. It also means you can't open the windows because all the fruit flies from the water would come into our room. We had asked to switch our room and they tried to accomodate the 2nd day when someone checked out of their room. The only problem was the other room was so high up you didn't have a view of the canal at all. Also, we asked them to change our towels because the bathroom was so muggy and smelly (due to the canal). They took all the towels from the floor and rehung them so everything was still damp when we came back to freshen up. All in all, the hotel was in a great location but it wasn't worth what we spent. I believe we could have stayed somewhere just as central at a better price....More
