Tamarindo Diria Beach and Golf Resort
Perfect location right on beach, nice pool, great staff providing tour info/bookings, nice bar, great breakfast buffet drawback was I got more mosquito bites sleeping in the room than staying out all day. I think they crack the windows in the bathrooms that lets mosquitos in. Golf course is not by the hotel (a little misleading to say Golf Resort in my opinion)...More

Hotel Arco Iris
My wife and I spent 4 nights here with our two young kids. There is a small but refreshing pool that is perfect for the children. The room was clean and staff friendly. The best part about this hotel is that it is rather hidden amongst the palm trees on a hill. It is peaceful. That's important, because Playa Tamarindo is full of beer drinking surfers at night. And that's fine, but you'll sleep good at this hotel. The continental breakfast is what one would expect. There is a pricey restaurant on site that we did not visit, but it gets its share of business. I would say it's about a 5 minute walk to the beach, bars and restaurants. Barcelo Langosta Beach All Inclusive
We arrived at the hotel and they had our reservation but no information whatsoever on the amount we paid. The hotel was full so I guess that we ended in a room below our rate because I booked one room with two beds and it had a king bed. They quickly installed a single bed but it was not as comfortable as the king, so we ended sleeping with the daughter. The room has a peculiar design with closets under the stairs that go to the next floor room. It was smelly at times. Other than that, the hotel staff was super friendly, in particular the entertainment crew. In spite of the room situation, I will recommend this hotel to any body looking for a family getaway by the ocean....More
