Maybe I stayed at the hotel "off-season". I don't know, but the pool and hottub were closed. When I go to Mexico, I expect to enjoy the outdoors (Pool, patio, etc). I could not and I feel like I spent a lot of money to sit indoors....More

San Carlos Plaza Hotel Resort & Convention Center
First and foremost there was lack of hospitality and empathy displayed by hotel representatives. At check-in there was not even so much as a welcome. Hotel representatives answered questions in a monotone and bothered fashion. The few times that we called customer service it was busy or they answered and subsequently left the phone off the hook without returning. Luckily, we were able to get through once to order desert. The room was disgusting. The carpet was wet, stained and smelled moldy. It was so bad that we debated whether or not to take our shoes off. The bet cover and mattress were also stained. There was left over hair on the bathroom sink and on one of the bed pillows. We had a hard time sleeping and ached each morning because the mattresses were so hard. The pool area was filthy. Anyone could easily see yellowish-brown sods and blots all over the waterline. Although attractive, hotel beach area was always full of people. This made it impossible to find a courtesy shaded area. We remedied the problem by walking off the hotel grounds to find a nice beach area with some privacy. This seclusion was short lived. Our family moments were frequently interrupted by speeding motorists on recreational vehicles that came inches away from our beach towel leaving sand all over our stuff. Many of these vehicles were driven by minors and rented through Hotel Plaza San Carlos. Although we know we could not get our money back, this was the first time we have ever contemplated leaving a resort early....More
