I enjoyed my stay at the Gran Hotel Lodz. It was old and had charm (and a really, great refrigerator in the room which really kept items cold which is rare in Europe/Eastern Europe). The location is in the heart of the old city (but go travel is the outskirts of Lodz too - very pretty, old city). Of course, in its day, this was really the place to be (I wondered which room(s) Isidora Duncan stayed in!) and now it seemed big and lumbering, but still, the room was excellent and I slept well while a guest. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was Internet service available at no extra cost and in a separate, little room for privacy which was nice. There weren't a lot of amenities, but it was a very functional hotel. There was no real paperwork (since I reserved though Hotels.com). I recommend this hotel highly....More

Fairly good service, clean rooms but very small, nice restaurant,breakfasts simple but adequate.Restaurant did not have decaffinated coffee. No gift shop in the lobby. No porter service. Overall hotel is overpriced for the quality....More

rooms are very nice and clean,only one problem the room was unusually small. The bathrooms are wuite large I think plnning did not make sense. The bathroom should have been smaller. It was hard to maneuver asround the room. If I opened the closet My husband could not pass. The room was extremely clean the very confortable....More
