Hotel Alle Tamerici
This hotel is actually reminiscent of American motels since it's all on one level. It's located at the edge of Ladispoli, which seems to be a sort of blue-collar beach town north of the Rome-Ostia axis. The hotel is self-contained within a square compound with its own gated entry. The rooms and restaurant are ranged around two sides, there's a pool, patio, lawn area in the center, and landscaping/walls for the rest. We have stayed here twice because it's a relatively quick trip to the airport to make a morning flight (twenty to thirty minutes), but away from the expense and bustle of airport hotels. They have picked up on the "wellness" fad and have fitness and spa offerings. The restaurant features seafood and was quite acceptable. The rooms are satisfactory, but pretty much three-star level; the four-star rating is not because of the elegance of the accomodations -- I think it reflects the pool and other amenities....More
