Close enough to enjoy the Great Barrier Reef trips from Cairns, and 10 min. to the Aboriginal Cultural Park and Karunda Rainforest Sky/Rail. Best to rent a car and at this price you can afford to! Perfect for families or couples...too quiet for 20-somethings. Nice BBQ area. Discount price was good during their early summer...temps were hot and humid but were in the water over half our time there, so no worries. 1 hr. scenic drive to Pt. Douglas....More

POSITIVES: - beautiful tropical setting, very serene and relaxing - located on a beautiful beach - nice layout with individual bungalows for privacy - friendly staff and homely feel NEGATIVES: - absolutely no shops or restaurants nearby - only one restaurant in hotel, very expensive, not much selection (but food quality is good) - room floor is made of extremely slippery wood, walking requires extra care - room floor always felt a little sandy/dirty, as if it wasn't cleaned properly every day....More
