The views were fabulous, the food was good, the one problem we did have was the water pressure, and before we could even report it, the problem was fixed. We loved it!...More

Ixchel Beach Hotel
Ixchel was a great choice and all about location, location, location. It is situated directly on the main beach, Playa Norte, of Isla Mujeres. The check-in could not have been easier. Our room was spotless and had a great view of the seafoam-green ocean and gorgeous beach. The hotel provides beach towels and drink service, which is great because you can lock up your wallet and passport in a safe (provided in the room) for your stay. The hotel provides breakfast at its "Comono" restaurant (you can charge to room)...and also owns a larger "Comono" a few blocks away (where you can also charge a meal to your room). The hotel also owns the beachside restaurant, Sunset Grill (ditto on charging). We enjoyed all three places and found the rates extremely reasonable. The only fault we had was that we found the mattress too firm for our liking- hard like a rock!
But we will return and would recommend this hotel to couples wanting a relaxing and romantic getaway....More

Ixchel Beach Hotel
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was overpriced and the room was not at all as described, the beds were hard, the room faced the pool and was described as a partial garden view and on top of that it had an overwhelming smell of mold.
The staff was unpleasant and unhelpful in switching rooms after one of the guests had an asthma attack due to the odor.
We actually went so far as canceling a reservation we had for 7 days....More
