Sofitel Seminyak Bali
We stayed in one of the superior rooms with King bed. The room was very large and nicely decorated, but the view from the balcony was disappointing (overlooking another building). The bathroom was large and had a separate shower and bathtub. The overall feeling was that the room would need better cleaning and a refurbishment. The floor was pretty dirty. The bathtub smelled a bit of sewer. At this price, we would have expected the hotel to have a water filtration system (as many lower-priced resorts in Bali have installed). The staff was very friendly, but the lobby area was disappointing. The ceiling was low and it didn't give an impression of being a 5 star resort. Pool area and garden was very nice though, and the location right on the beach is perfect. In sumary, considering the price we paid, we felt the cleanliness of the room should've been better and the lobby was disappointing. There are cheaper and nicer options....More

Uma Ubud
We absolutely loved staying at this hotel. It is located conveniently close to the center of Ubud, and they provided a free shuttle to the town every two hours. There was a range of really fun activities, some of which are free! The food is great, and the facilities are beautiful. But above all, the service there far exceeded our expectations. They tried to be one step ahead of our needs, and every staff member was very friendly and helpful. I fell ill from food poisoning (not from the hotel's food), and the staff called a doctor to make a house call. We felt very taken care of, and I would book there again in a heartbeat....More

Mercure Kuta Bali
Overall a very nice place to stay right on the beach in Kuta, although I thought the rooms were too small for the money. Also, the actually charge for internet service while many of the other hotels do not. I raised the issue at the front desk, however, and they comped me 24 hours....More
