Auberge de la Vieille Tour - MGallery Collection
This outstanding hotel is situated on a hill overlooking the sea. The grounds are lovely but full of stairs not recommanded for the handicapped It has an old sugar mill tower that is the hotel boutique.
Our deluxe room suite had gorgeous views of the sea and other parts of the island . The balcony was large and had a longue chair. Breakfast which was included with the room was delicious and fresh. They made omelets and crepes for you. The restaurant was pricey but well
worth it Every dish we tried was delicious
and gorgeous to look at. The service was
impecable: friendly and efficient....More

La Creole Beach Hôtel & Spa
We stayed at the Creole Beach Hotel for two nights before leaving Guadeloupe (we'd spent almost two weeks in small hotels on Basseterre and Iles des Saintes). This is a huge impersonal hotel and we would have not wanted to spend very long there. It was also very expensive given the poor exchange rate of dollars against the euro. The room had nothing memorable about it although it was clean, comfortable and quiet. We paid a little more for an "ocean view" which was a sliver of ocean out of the "balcony" which was about one foot wide. In retrospect, we should have stayed with the "garden view." On the plus side, the huge pool was fun for our kids, the breakfast (which came with the room) was exceptionally good and we enjoyed the fact that at this large resort, we never heard anyone else speaking English; at least when we were there, guests seemed to be almost exclusively European. The beach was nice for an artificial beach and the water was clean. We took a water taxi from the hotel to a small island where we snorkeled and swam and had a really nice afternoon. One evening we ate at the smaller of the hotel's restaurants and had a good meal. The second night we walked to a restaurant just outside the hotel, which was equally good. I wouldn't call the Creole Beach staff super friendly, but they were willing to help us with various questions and we didn't have any problems. We liked learning a bit about the more built up part of Guadeloupe and the hotel is close to the airport. All in all, our stay was fine. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there again, but on the off chance that I was ever in Guadeloupe again and needed a hotel on Grande Terre for a couple of days, I wouldn't be opposed to going back to the Creole Beach Hotel....More

Residences Yucca
We were treated well and not too costly. Taxi took almost an hour pick-up and hotel located in weird parking lot. But the hotel itself was nice...More
