    Hotel Arco Iris
    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Arco Iris. The hotel is just a short walk (less than 5 minutes, albeit the road is a bit dusty) to the center of Tamarindo and there are plenty of restaurants, as well as a small grocery store nearby. Richard, the owner, went out of his way to offer us travel tips and really made our stay comfortable.     Balmoral Hotel
    Staff was rude at check in. I showed up at 3 pm after an intercontinental flight and they told me my room would not be ready for an hour, despite the fact the the hotel was clearly not at full capacity, and they were not in any mood to hear my questions about what to do in the meantime.
