Hotel Martino Spa and Resort
this is a great hotel if you have to stay in Alajuela. It has very good food, it is clean and comfortable. The room had AC and a safe and was very large. the pool was nice and the gym was fantastic. the TV had at least 10 stations in english and it also had a DVD player (bring DVDs). the staff was polite and accommodating.

Hotel Santo Tomas
This hotel is in the red light district. It is scary around there and is no way to kick off a Costa Rica vacation, unless that's what you're into....More
