    Arenal Manoa
We stayed at this hotel for one night and had a very good experience. The staff was very helpful in finding us a tour package with the Arenal Volcano and Tabacon Hot Springs. When we got back late at night, they had a golf cart to take us back to our room. Also we had a problem with our TV and we called the front desk and they came right over to fix it for us. The room was pretty nice but a bit bland- plain walls and tiled floors. The bathrooms were large and open- lots of natural light- very relaxing. Our room had double beds- noticeably less comfortable than a king- and from what I could tell, all the rooms were this way. The rooms were clean but I did encounter one cockroach, which is not unexpected given the climate. It was not a major nuisance other than for the 20 seconds it took to kill it. Wireless internet was advertised as being available in the room but I had trouble getting a steady signal with my iPhone. They did have a complementary business center which served as a suitable backup, although you had to go to the reception area to use it. Breakfast was included with a choice between American and Costa Rican style food- both were very good. They also provided complementary fresh fruit on request. You can see just about everything there is to see in Arenal in one day and this is the perfect hotel for that....More

    Hotel Santo Tomas
The hotel itself was not bad. The rooms were nice, the pool, patio and restaurant were nice. Trying to find the place even in the middle of the day was a nightmare. I can't imagine finding it at night. The one way streets and lack of street signs in San Jose made it very difficult to find on an off the beaten path street. I guess it might be okay to stay at if you are arriving via taxi or bus and they know where the hotel is....More

    Cala Luna Hotel and Spa
My husband and I stayed at the Cala Luna December 13-20 and had a wonderful experience. The staff is amazing and the food at the hotel restaurant was never disappointing. The only negative I have to say about the Cala Luna is that the hotel walls are paper thin. So, if you're a light sleeper, you may want to stay elsewhere....More
