"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

Let the West Coast have Hollywood; Broadway’s lights are just as bright, and many screen actors come to the Great White Way to gain acting credibility. Area attractions include Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Resplendent St. Patrick’s Cathedral takes up a block at Fifth and 50th. Once seedy, Times Square now hosts ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.
see all hotels in New York"great location for price"
It was fine. Only issue was the AC. It did not apprear to work well & we told the hotel staff but they did not correct the problem. Luckily it was cooler outside & that was sufficient. Our only issue, otherwise decent hotel stay.
"Great location, but......."
Gave us a King instead the two queens we requested; roll-away bed did not fit in the room without moving the desk and unplugging the phone and clock; repeatedly given only two bath towels for three guests; alarms went off several times during the first night of our stay. Front desk and bell hops were very friendly and helpful.
"Great location, that's about it."
This was my first time in NYC and I was traveling for business. The location was fantastic. Close to the places I needed to be, etc. The room was incredibly small, the furnishings were old/outdated. The carpet/walls, etc. showed a lot of wear and the beds were not very comfortable. I could clearly hear the conversations of the guests in the room next […] to me and all the outside noise and traffic could be heard through the walls/window even though I was on the 17th floor. I am due back in NY the end of May, first of June and will be seeking out other accommodations. Read more

"The Manhattan Hotel"
I was registered for 2 double beds, but when I got there, we only had 1 double bed in the room. At first we were told, there was no availability for our request. Then we had to wait over 2 hours while they got another room cleaned and ready. When we got in the room, it didn't smell fresh, there was a used water bottle on the floor, the toilet had stains […] on the commode, the sink was not cleaned, and hair was on the bathroom floor. The breakfast was good, but overall it was not worth the rate that we had to pay. I would never stay there again. Read more

"Great Value . . ."
Location, location, location . . . so convenient to everything and a very serviceable room. Nothing fancy, but no complaints whatsoever.
"The Manhattan at Times Square - luxury and comfort"
After reading a few of the other reviews, I was a little uncertain about my choice, but I am very glad that I stayed at The Manhattan at Times Square! The hotel staff was attentive and courteous; the pool was wonderful; the appointments in the room were luxurious. There was one small issue in the room that was quickly resolved. I was attending a conference […] at a nearby hotel, and was very grateful to walk back to my own hotel each night. I will definitely use this hotel again! Read more
"Clean"
Bathroom cleanliness, esp. floor, was not 3+. The daily maid service was great but sink was cracked and grout on floor was dirty.
"Great Price"
The Manhattan at Times Square was a great hotel for the price we paid. It was centrally located, clean and the staff was nice. The only thing it didn't offer that we could've used was free wi-fi in our room.
"Manhatten @ Times Square"
Nice place / nice people. Not to bad on the rates considering the location. Would definitely stay here again
"Great Location and a High Quality Hotel"
This trip was my first stay at The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased. First, the location is great. It is within easy walking distance of Broadway shows and all of the other attractions of the Times Square area. The hotel is modern and clean. I was pleased with the size of my room. The price I got through hotel.com […] was substantially less than comparable area hotels of the same quality. It is a large hotel (I stayed on the 20th floor) which means large groups arriving and competition for the free computer stations. For the most part, the staff handled the chaos well. I did not try the hotel restaurant (would rather eat cheaply and/or explore), but the fact that the hotel has a pool is a rare NYC amenity. Overall, the hotel was modern and well-maintained, consistent with the quality you'd expect from a Starwood property. I'll be looking at this hotel for future NYC trips. Read more

"Manhattan Times Square, Perfect Location!!"
Had a great time in NY and really loved our hotel for what we needed it for. The hotel was in the perfect location and it was not pricey at all compared to other hotels in the same area "Time Square". We got there early around 10am and we immedietly thought we'll drop our bags off and explore the city until we are able to check in but luck would have […] it that they upgraded us to a king bed room and it was available immedietely. The room was of decent size as any other standard room. It had the king bed a little desk with office chair, 6 drawer dresser, and a spacious closet with safe. The bathroom was regular size as well. Noise was a concern at first since we thought being so close to time square would be an issue but it was not the case...Only noise problems we had were people slamming their hotel room doors, we had to call security which handled the problem. Other than that the hotel was perfect for our stay and I would recommend it to others as long as your not expecting the ritz. For new timers to NY...i seriously recommend Famous Dave's BBQ (171 W. 47th Street in Times Square) walking distance from Hotel. There is also Ellens Stardust Diner (1650 Broadway (between 50th St & 51st St) around the corner where you will find singing waitresses while you dine. While in NY keep in mind that everything might be more pricier than what you're used to...we decided to compensate with sometimes sharing meals as the portions are more than enough. Read more

"Great hotel; lousy elevator service"
My only complaint is the following morning it can take up to 15 minutes to get an elevator that isn't full to your floor. We asked two staff members where the stairs were, they refused to let us take them because apparently it's too confusing to get to the next set of stairs once you have descended to the fourth floor. We assured them that we were mart […] enough to take directions, but they still refused. Read more
"Poor front desk management"
Other than the front desk and pool area, the staff was excellent. The restaurant staff was excellent and the maid service was terrific. I think the front desk and pool personnel need Customer Service training. I did not find the front desk personnel to be welcoming, knowledgeable, or interested in dealing with issues with a strong customer service focus. Issues: - […] At checkin the front desk could not tell my children what the swimming pool hours were. The front desk did not try to look the hours up or inquire with the lifeguard..."I'm not certain" was one response, and “I think 6am to 8:30pm” was another. The pool actually closes at 10pm. - The guard at the pool was cavalier and rude. I took my daughter to the pool and my son stayed in our room. The guard asked me to sign in and to see our room key. I told him we weren’t aware that we needed our room key and all we had on was our bathing suits. I asked if he could validate us with the front desk. He grabbed a small sign with the rule on it from behind his chair and placed it in front of me. He did not explain or say, “I am sorry but that is the hotel policy in order to use the pool.” We trekked back to the room, got the key, and went back to the pool. This is another rule that the front desk should be aware of and communicate to its customers when discussing the pool! - The electricity in the bathroom and the hallway area went out. Discovered at 5am when I went to use the bathroom. I used my cell phone for light. - The front desk insinuated that I must have done something to cause the electricity problem…like used the hair dryer. I don’t have enough hair to worry about a hair dryer. - The room phone was broken. When I called the front desk, I could hear them but they could not hear me...they hung up. I fiddled with the phone cord and called the front desk again...they hung up again. I sure am glad that I wasn’t having a heart attack because they never called back or showed any concern. - With no room phone, I had to Read more

"Manhatten at Times Square-more than we expected"
As first time visitors to NYC we found the hotel very central to all we wanted to do. Staff was friendly, helpful and the facility provided all that you would want. Clean, fresh linens, coffee maker, in house cafe for breakfast, pool. Great lobby, with internet access. We will definitely come again.
"Great location, good accomodations"
Right in the theater district, my daughter and I were only minutes away from all 3 productions. Easy access to subway for trips to Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. Short subway and walking distance to Empire State Building, Central Park, MOMA, 5th Avenue. Very quiet rooms and yet bustling, international crowd in lobby. Computers in lobby have internet […] access- often busy though. Fee for service in room. Rooms more than adequate. Read more
"Manhattan Hotel at Times Square - best location"
The location of this hotel cannot be overrated. It is so convenient that the fact that it took me 3 requests to get a refrigerator in my room can easiily be overlooked. The bed was extremely comfortable. If you are looking for first-class luxury, it may be here, but it was not in my room, which was next to the elevator, the maids' storage closet, and […] the icemaker. But even all this did not dampen my enthusiasm for the location. I will stay here again, but I will make my preferences known when I book the room. Read more
"Manhattan Times Square Hotel"
We stayed just one night on 2/22/12. What a perfect location! Right near all the action of Times Square, but far enough uptown not to hear the noise at night. Lobby is nice, check-in easy. I am particularly petrified of bedbugs, and was pleased to find no evidence in our room after a thorough inspection of the bed, walls, ceiling, curtains, etc. The […] hotel could use a renovation, but it's not too bad. The pool is nice, but I called down to the desk and was assured there are pool towels & I wouldn't need to bring down any from my room. However, when we got to the pool, they were out of towels & wouldn't deliver any more. The room was incredibly hot all night, even with the air conditioner set to 65. We eventually opened the window to let cool air in. Overall, we had a nice stay. Perfect for a one-night getaway to enjoy midtown attractions. Probably would choose somewhere else for an extended stay. Read more
"Great location and Helpful staff"
Perfect place to stay when you go to New York for a Broadway Play. Staff was very, very helpful and kind.
"Very Pleased."
The hotel was clean, beds were nice, and the staff was pleasant. The pool was very nice. Would stay there again. Great location for any Times Square or Broadway location.

"Should clean the carpets"
Excelente location in broadway theatre area. Incredible breackfast. Very dirty carpets and the bathrooms need repairment
W had to move room because the TV and some of the lights didn't work. Then in the middle of the night the radiator started making a loud clanging noise.
"Great price, nice staff, tylenol PM as thin walls"
Hotel upgraded my room from a quen bed to king size as it was my and I sleeping there (this was complimentary and not asked for just given!) They also let us check-in at 10 am and held our bags for free after check-out as we weren't leaving the city till late pm. Location was great just around the corner from radio city. Only gripe is that the walls […] are very thin and the people next door came in around 1am. I loved the rest of the hotel so much that I will just take some Tylenol PM for my next stay there!!! Definitely worth it Read more
Excellent location, it seems a very busy hotel-reserve in advance, typical breakfast with a good variety of products (cereal, fruits, eggs, bacon, yogurt,...), rooms spacious enough, nice pool, but the sauna was not hot enough. Overall, good experience; will stay there again.

"Definition of ok"
This should not be a Starwood hotel, not anywhere near the quality standards I've come to expect from brand. I'm sure this hotel will suit many peoples needs, but for me it was a major disappointment. It's not terrible for the price, you get what you pay for, but I'm going to make a stink if my employer tries to stick me in here again.

"Hotel is a DUMP!"
Sheraton should be embarrassed having their name assoicated with this flea bag hotel! It is tired, old, worn, dirty, uncomfortable, overpriced, lacking of ammenities, disgusting.....I will tell ten people times ten to not stay here!
"Very Convenient"
Great location. We came to see Wicked and others in our group to see the Christmas Spectacular. both theatres we're within 5 minutes walking. Not to mention the convenience to Rock Centre and Time Square (hence the name). Would definately return.

"Great location and room"
Would definitely stay at this hotel again. The only problem we had was the room was too warm. The lowered the thermostat temp but it didn't help. We probably just weren't doing something correctly. Not a big enough problem that we called for help.
"Decent hotel, good staff, a few problems"
I booked A very last minute business trip to ny. This hotel had availability at a convenient location, and the price wasn't outrageous. Nice lobby and staff was attentive. BUT, the heat didn't work in my room. Temperature was 69 degrees- not that bad, but I wanted it warmer. Called to desk- they sent someone right away. Fiddled with the radiator and […] said he would have to "fix it in the computer". Nothing was fixed. No follow-up phone call. I would up just being cold all night. Not acceptable for the price I paid. Other minor annoyance- no shower cap. Come on people- shower caps should be standard amenity!!! Those problems aside, it is a decent ny hotel room. I'd book again if my other favorite midtown hotels were not available. Read more
"Great location, friendly staff, a little dated."
We stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend 2011. The location is perfect for exploring the area. You are a 2-3 blocks from the craziness of Times Square and 5 -6 blocks from Central Park. There is so much to do in this area and the hotel is in the center of it all. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when needed. The hotel itself is in okay […] condition. I would say 3 out of 5 stars. The lobby is average and not too big. They have 5 computers for guest use where you can print your boarding passes or surf the net. A small shop with souveniers and munchies as well. There is a restaurant in the hotel but we did not eat there. The rooms themselves are ok. We had a king room on the 11th floor. Everything was a little worn and could use some refrshing. It did have a 40" flat screen TV, desk with wired internet included as well. The wireless was free too but at the time of our visit it was pretty slow. The bathroom was small but everything worked as it should. Our 2 biggest complaints were 1) the sheets. They are no cozy and make loud noises when you toss or turn. 2) The wall are pretty thin. We could here doors closing at all hours of the night, as well as horns being blown on the street below. So, I would suggest a higher room and maybe bring your own sheets if you can. All in all, the location made this hotel worth the stay, not to mention the prices arent bad at all, especially given the proximity to all the attractions. Room Tip: The higher the floor the better to avoid noise from the roads below. Read more
