"A gem in Amsterdam."
The owners of this small boutique hotel were the perfect hosts, warm, charming, and very attentive to all our questions. The hotel is very elegant and well appointed, modern and clean, with some of the finest plumbing fixtures available. It's in a very old building with lots of character and charm. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Amsterdam now that we've found Hotel IX!

"Great stay in a quiet/classy neighborhood"
Great location in the nine-street shopping district of Amsterdam. Close enough to walk to all of the sites, but far enough away from the loud bar scene. Very clean room with helpful staff. Only negative is no elevator, but that didn't bother us.

"Wonderful Boutique Hotel in The 9 Streets District"
First of all, Merel and Susan are great hosts. Communication was timely and complete, leaving us no worries about our arrival and our stay. We met Merel upon arrival and she accommodated all of our needs and answered our questions. You won't find better hosts. The location is very good - everything is easy to get to from here, although many of the shops in the 9 Streets district close early. It is a safe area night and day. The cafe next door has excellent coffee/espresso drinks and some breakfast items. There is a market 3 blocks away so we brought food into our room for breakfast and late dinners. The place itself is great. It is modern with nice amenities such as free wi-fi and free minibar items. Most importantly, the room was clean. The bed is comfortable and the size of our suite (Reestraat) was very spacious. The living area faces the street, which is not very noisy at night. The shower and toilet in this suite are in the middle of the living area and the bedroom. (Note: The shower area is enclosed in glass so there is no privacy, and the main sink is inside the glass enclosure. There is also a small sink inside the toilet room) I highly recommend staying here and I'd definitely stay here again. Five stars for Hotel IX are well-deserved. The only downside was that we had two heavy pieces of luggage and there are no elevators. Reestraat Suite is at the top level (3 flights of narrow stairs). There are no street level rooms, but no problem for us. Totally worth the w

"A little Oasis"
Just off the main thoroughfare but easy enough to find. This small 'boutique' hotel (2/3 rooms in total) is lovely, clean, modern, mini bar free, lovely walk in shower, flat screen TV, modern decor whilst maintaining the age of the typical Dutch building. Far nicer than any of these large hotel chains. The keyless entry via touch pad can be a little fiddly, especially if you forgot your glasses or a little drunk!

"Rekommenderas varmt! Men lite lyhört..."

"Your perfect boutique suite in the heart of Amsterdam"
In the middle of one of the hippest neighborhoods of Amsterdam, yet once inside completely removed from the hustle and bustle in the street. All major sights (Dam Square to Rijksmuseum) within walking distance, and you're only steps from one of the famous canals. The owners are super friendly and easy going. We had the Reestraatsuite on the top floor, which features separate sleeping and living areas.

"很好的飯店選擇"
旅館的位置非常好,兩位經營者也很親切,房間寬敞舒適,所有冰箱飲料免費,還送一瓶香檳,膠囊咖啡機也非常有用,唯一不好的地方是沒有接待櫃台,要自己用密碼開門進入,密碼鎖常有問題,打不開時得要電話聯繫兩位經營者。

"Perfect location, beautiful hotel, wonderful hosts"

Our family of four stayed at the Hotel IX for two nights -we only wish it were longer. It is beautifully fitted out, in a really special location, and the two owners are just lovely. There is nothing I would change, except to make it my second home!

"The personal touches make all the difference"

Fabulous hotel! Perfect location! A short walk to local attractions and canals, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be very quiet at night. We stayed in the Wolvenstraat Suite based on previous reviews, and must say we weren't disappointed! On arrival to the room guests are greeted with a bottle of wine and a welcome note from lovely hosts, Susan and Merel, which is a nice personal touch! The room is modern, tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, warm and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. The shower room is large and beautifully tiled, the shower is powerful, toiletries are provided as well as slippers and hairdryer. A Nespresso machine, a small mini bar and a safe are all provided at no extra charge. I would highly recommend this hotel and would have no hesitation in staying here again. Thank you Susan and Merel, you have a lovely hotel to be proud of!

"Location, Location, Location!"
01/18/16 Rebecca M London, United Kingdom
Merel & Susan were wonderful hosts. We stayed in close contact before my arrival which made getting to and into the hotel very simple. The suite was decorated very tastefully with a lot of space and the location was in a considerably nice area - only a less than 10 minute walk from the 'Amsterdam-centrum'. The suite included some appreciated personal touches which made my partners and my arrival very special and reassuring feeling very at home. My last day was particularly bad as me and my partner, got food poisoning from a restaurant in Amsterdam. Merel was amazing and had offered a doctors help although I assured her it wasn't necessary. She went above the call of duty and gave me some little extras to help my flight go as smoothly as it possibly could. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else when I look forward to returning! Thank you!

"Awesome Place to Stay in Amsterdam "
01/05/16 10centcoin Auckland Region, New Zealand
This is an awesome hotel right in the heart of the city and close to the attractions (especially Anne Frank's House) The room was modern with high quality furnishings - the beds were especially comfy!!! The free WiFi and mini-bar were both appreciated. Our room had street views and a open terrace at the back. At check-out, the owner was really nice and helped with carrying the bags and called a taxi! :-) A very enjoyable stay! Would recommend to anyone coming to Amsterdam.

"Wonderful gem in a great neighbourhood"

Spent 4 nights at this great hotel, walking distance from the Museums (about a mile), one block from the Anne Frank museum and right in the 9 streets neighborhood. Got great tips and help from Merel, and the room was large, comfortable, clean and so quiet.

"Mother/Daughter Stay"
11/06/15 Elizabeth Y San Francisco, California
I couldn't have asked for a better home for my 1 night stay in Amsterdam with my Mom. It's only a few blocks from the The Anne Frank Hotel which was PERFECT for us since we couldn't get advance tickets. It enabled us to head over early and get in line before it was too long. The hotel is on a quaint, quiet street with cute coffee shops and shopping stores. It's easy to get anywhere in the city (15-20 minute walk to almost any major attraction). One thing I wanted to clarify is that Hotel IX is not the place for you if it's really important for you to have a front desk/concierge. It's more like a luxury apartment experience. It IS the perfect place if you want a low-key, relaxing, quiet stay with beautiful, spacious rooms in a great location. The room amenities are lovely, and we were met with a bottle of wine and personal note from Merel and Susan. They also were really helpful ahead of time answering my questions. Merel & Susan will email you codes the day before your arrival so you know how to get into the hotel and your room. Thank you for a great stay! Highly Recommend. There is a breakfast place down the street that is AWESOME. It's called "REE7". And a coffee place next store that's great too.

"Two night stay in Amsterdam"

We stayed at the Hotel IX in the Reestraat Suite. It was very comfortable and quiet. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Great bathroom and WC. Lots of privacy. Excellent location and Screaming Beans has amazing breakfasts! Highly recommended and excellent hostesses! Thank you Susan and Merle! We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Amsterdam

"Feels like home. "

Great B&B in the 9th district. Only a few very special suites, all individually unique. Located right near Anne Frank house in a neighborhood of shops, coffee cafes and more. The beds are luxurious and comfy. The room is a minimalistic modern design, which I adore. A glass shower/ bathroom is clean and welcoming. The linens are first class. Includes on arrival was a bottle of Pinot noir with a handwritten welcome note from the owner, Nespresso coffee maker and supplies and a mini bar with sparking water, soda and beer. Susan and Merl, the owners, do a great job of connecting via email. Susan let us check in early. A quiet please that is beautiful and Amsterdam. What a great choice. PS no TV but free wifi.

"Beautiful Boutique hotel in a beautiful part of Amsterdam"
10/11/15 Wendle65inBC Vancouver BC
Hotel IX lives up to it reviews. It is a chic boutique hotel in a trendy (higher end) part of Amsterdam. The rooms (we had 201) are beautifully decorated and well equipped with the creature comforts. The owners are welcoming and wonderful and clearly want their guests to have a wonderful stay. The only drawback for me is that the floor boards creek a lot and if the guest in the suite above you is of some girth or weight and has to get up 4x per night to use the loo, sleep will be at a premium if you are a light sleeper, as I am. Luckily, he/they checked out the day after we arrived and we had peace again. Next time, I am going to book the uppermost floor.
