"great deal, great location"
Our stay was good. the small kitchen, eating area, and living room are comfortable. Staying there during the week, we don't know if it would be a noisy spot, but then again our room was an interior one. There are bars and discos in the street and at night there were groups of people visibly drunk people that can be a little disconcerting. However, we […] had no problem and seemed to keep to themselves. The staff was really helpful and they helped us to get to the airport during a Madrid taxi strike. The apartment hotel style was perfect for us: we don't need cleaning everyday or change of towels, daily. We were very close to Museums, sights, good tapas bars, and restaurants. We recommend it and we would stay there again.

"Perfect accommodation in a perfect location"

I went to Madrid from Thursday to Monday and had a fantastic time! Matute 11 emailed me about a week before asking what time I was planning on arriving and if I had any questions. They told me how to get to the apartments (take the metro, it's easy and only 5 euros). Once we arrived someone was waiting for us and showed us to our room which was lovely. We had one of the studio apartments and it was really nice. Perfect size for two of us. Modern, clean and we'll decorated. We did not have a street view so our stay was very quiet. Matute 11 is located in the centre of everything. 10 minutes one way is grand via, 10 mins the other way is puerto del sol and plaza mayor. Matute 11 is right by Santa Ana which is a lovely little square full of restaurants. It's really not expensive to eat - we found all eating places really well priced. And shopping in a super market was excellent!! On nights out I really don't advise a 'rep' leading you into some bar and giving you free alcohol for 5 euros. It's a bit dodgy! Hotel bars are the best, however they are priced at 15 or 20 euros to enter (you do get one free drink - and they are big doubles). The hotel bars tend to be on the roof and are really nice. Right by the apartments there is Hotel ME which has a really nice roof top bar. I recommend it!! We end up here a couple of times as it had a really good atmosphere. Two clubs worth going to are kapital which is only open Thursday Friday and Saturday. This is massive club full of mostly tourists. There is also joy eslava, also for tourists and is open every night. They are around 25 euros to get in but they are both great nights out. Things not to miss are, chilling out in the realto park. The red open top bus, the palace, sitting and people watching on plaza mayor and taking a day trip to Toledo (you can get a train straight there from atocha, which is only at the end of the road from the apartments) A fantastic city that I highly recommend!!!!!
"Gorgeous apartment in central location."

This review is long overdue. My mum, sister and friend stayed at one of Matute 11s 2-bedroom apartments for a week a few years ago. It was a fantastic deal. The apartment was beautiful, clean and spacious. Ours had an indoor patio area, which was really lovely. The building itself is gorgeous, and the location superb -- within close walking distance to major sights, and easy access to the metro. We stopped at the market next door every day, which was a huge money-saver. The only thing that wasn't terrific was that I left a ring behind that I had bought in Madrid and the manager promised to mail it to me but never did. Other than that, highly recommend Matute 11.
"Good Apartment in Great Location"

My wife and I had seven nights in Apartment 315 which is recently renovated and well equipped (including AC in both the living area and the bedroom). The Matute 11 Suits have an elevator so hauling luggage was not a problem. We booked through Booking.com and had no problems whatsoever. We were contacted by email a couple of days before our arrival to confirm our expected time of arrival. Check-in and Check-out were easy and with no complications with reception organising the taxi (on a Sunday) that turned up on time and was very reasonably priced. The apartment was spotlessly clean and provided more than enough towels etc. Matute Suits is in an ideal location and we were able to walk to all the venues we wished to see in Madrid. It is also in a great area for restaurants, cafes, bars and arts and crafts shops. Good quality produce, including bread, pastries, wines and cheeses, is available and there is a Metro a very short distance away. This was our first trip to Madrid and Matue 11 provided an ideal base. When we return we will stay here again but probably for a few more days.

Stayed at the apartment residence for a week and must say how impressed I was with the facilities. The double room was spacious and comfortable with kitchenette. Free wifi was a bonus and the staff were very friendly. The price was very reasonable.

The hotel location is excellent, close to Museo del Prado, Museo de Reina Sofia, Parque del Retiro. The price is affordable and the room was really nice and comfortable. We really appreciated the interior design of the room. It is lovely. Still, the walls were a little too thin, but it wasn´t that disturbing (we probably were lucky to have quiet neighbours). Also there is a strange and tricky faucet in the kitchenette, but once you are told how to use it, there will be no problem. All in all it is an enjoyable place and I would stay there again.
"Quaint but modern, a hidden gem in Madrid"

After arriving at Matute, we were somewhat skeptical. Couldn't imagine what the room would look like after we climbed into a very strange looking elevator. We were absolutely astonished, this gorgeous little apartment, ultra modern and absolutely stunning! Couldn't have asked fir a better location! Set in the heart of the city, close walking distance to everything and quiet and peaceful enough to rest those feet after all the sight seeing and of course shopping! You won't regret your decision to stay here.

Hotel was nice with really comfortable beds. Rooms was spacious and bright. We had a dreadful view over the backyard that was in awful condition(ready to be teared down). It was quite easy to hear the neighbours and I can imagine that this can disturb if you're sensitive(or have the wrong neighbours). It was extremely hard to regulate the temp in the shower always too hot or too cold. In the shower there were several old open holes and as a house owner myself I can't believe that this is not tended to. In a while there will be some water damage in the wall and bad smell from moist walls. Seems negligent to me. We got a bargain price for this but for the full price it would not have been worth its price. No service really at the hotel, you're just renting the room. Note that there's no cleaning while you're there but I think you get new linen every 4 days on request. 10 min walk to Prado and 10 min to shopping street Fuencarral. Metro station 2 min away. Lots of Tripadvisors top ranked restaurants nearby. South of Anton Martin/Atocha street there's a nice non touristic area with lots of good local resaturants and tapas bars.
"Good location, but very small room with a view to a ruined building"
03/27/14 Cravy Krasnoyarsk, Russia
Our room was really small (they say it is a common thing in Madrid) with a view to a destroyed inner yard. - A tiny shower space. No view from the window. A tiny room itself. No chance to spend some time inside. + Kitchen space Center location
"Excellent staff and a comfortable apartment"
03/19/14 Redhowe Barcelona, Spain
On booking this apartment I requested both a bath and a balcony and I was pleased to discover they had given us both :-). The staff were incredibly helpful and polite ensuring that we were as comfortable as possible. As we were travelling with two children - aged 3 1/2 years and 2 months - the large apartment and cooking facilities were used often during our 3 night stay. On one evening there was quite a noisy party directly opposite - a birthday party - and, after the staff made a complaint on our behalf, the party was quickly quietened to acceptable levels. I would wholeheartedly recommend the apartments and I look forward to us returning when we're next in Madrid.
