Throughout Germany - Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Cologne, and Berlin - this was, by far, the best place we stayed. Beautifully appointed rooms overlooking the garden, brimming with flowers and wonderful landscaping. Delicious breakfast buffet enjoyed in the garden. Friendly staff, convenient location to train. Definitely recommended and would gladly return.
"Lovely looking hotel, shame about the bed and lack of heating"

This is a pretty hotel, in a convenient location. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. However, we booked a double room and got two single beds pushed together. It was winter and the room was freezing cold with no apparent way to heat it. My girlfriend and I tried to celebrate our arrival in Berlin but the mattresses kept moving apart and we kept falling between them. Plus as the room was so cold and the bedding inadequate it limited our creativity substantially,

We were upgraded by the hotel and though a lot of stairs to the top of the building we had an experience of how it would be to live in a flat in Berlin. quiet. Fortunately or bedroom overlooked the garden and was very quiet. The staff were helpful;, breakfasts delicious, a delight; the public space relaxed. Getting around was easy with the metro so close and as we got to know the local area found it lively and interesting, so different from more established areas. Hope to return.
"Very charming room on the garden"

I had a charming room in the garden, which is the main attraction of this hotel. Having breakfast or a read in the garden turned out to be a true joy and an escape from the traffic of the Berlin Mitte. The room vas rather basic but the garden made all the difference. Very close to the underground (Nordbanhof or Naturkundemuseum stop).
"The Honigmond Gatden Hotel was more than I could have hoped for."

The double room was an independent studio apartment in the garden. It was absolutely lovely. The breakfast was superb and the hotel was in a convenient and fantastic location. It is a quiet hotel quite near the train station and a pleasant walk to Hackescher Markt. The hotel restaurant is in the neighborhood and is quite good. Very hospitable staff and all in all I would surely stay at the hotel again when I am next in Berlin.
"Honigmond Garden Hotel - Excellent experience, lovely place"

I stayed for two nights in this hotel, the room was fantastic, large ceilings, four poster bed and very clean indeed. The garden was a real paradise in the city, very tranquil and relaxing. Very good location with Train station just over the road. During the time I was staying there were a lot of roadworks, they were not noisy but the pavements were not in good condition. I would definitely stay here again.
"Excellent Value - and great breakfast"

Stayed for 2 nights in one of the garden rooms. Immaculately clean, very quiet, comfortable bed and good sized shower-room (no bath). The continental buffet breakfast was almost certainly one of the best I've ever eaten. Wifi free (after a log-in process) but the signal in our garden room was very weak and dropped out occasionally. The area is clearly under some re-development but the hotel is well situated for tram and metro services. We were quite late arriving on Friday, but the receptionist agreed to wait for us, as the Garden part of the hotel does not have 24 hour reception. Overall, a very good find and a hotel I would be happy to use again.

I have stayed here twice now and will return again. Rooms are lovely and the breakfast is fabulous. The garden is gorgeous and the staff are very kind. The location is also very good, with a metro station just round the corner.
"Good in many ways"

We agree with your other reviewer's praise of the lovely garden, bountiful breakfasts and friendly staff. We had not realised how convenient the location is with a U-bahn stop one block west and an S-bahn one block east, in addition to a short (10 to 15 minutes) walk to the central Museum Island area. You can purchase transit tickets at the hotel desk and take advantage of Berlin's excellent system. There is heavy construction on and across the street from the Honigmond Garden, which will last for over a year, so the front rooms are less desireable. Of course, everyone wants a room overlooking the quiet garden anyway. Since it is an old building, you must deal with stairs and unusual room shapes. Ours was a somewhat cramped bedroom with a huge bathroom. The area is very quiet and we enjoyed a couple of dinners at their companion hotel just a couple of blocks away. You could sit at the sidewalk tables with no traffic noise. The food is good, and reasonably priced as evidenced by the many local residents dining there. The overall feeling was homey rather than luxury. We enjoyed our five nights there and four lovely days in Berlin.
"Cosy, warm and inviting - an echo from East Berlin"

This gem has a rich history that hearkens back to the older days of a divided Berlin. It was a real discovery for us, and "Honeymoom" hotel lived up to its name. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the companion hotel's restaurant and discovered how wonderful dining with the locals can really be. We enjoyed very comfortable accomodations, comparable to the luxury feel of a Westin, found our way around the safe and well-lit residential neighborhood nearby without any trouble, and enjoyed the close proximity to the U-bahn and S-bahn routes. Hotel reception was absolutely charming, and made us feel like old friends returning after a long time away. It was only a ten minute walk to the colorful pedestrian zone and a memorable stroll down Unter den Linden to the Brandenburg Gate, and we engaged a knowledgeable guide to show us the historical sights and memorials throughout the eastern sector on our second day. Perfect location for a visit to Berlin, especially if you plan to see much of the old East Berlin historical sights, the Stassi prison site, the majestic parliament (Reichstag),and stroll through the Tiergarten.
