"Sentralt beliggende, men...."
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Siisti, pieni, persoonallinen hotelli. Hintalaatusuhde hyvä. Ystävällinen hlökunta, loistava sijainti. Ainut miinus oli meille osunut pienehkö huone. Seurueemme toinen pariskunta sai samalla hinnalla tilavamman huoneen. Ilmeisesti kaikki huoneet erilaisia. Aamiainen lisämaksusta, ihan ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Loved it! "

The hotel was everything we had expected! The rooms rate was affordable and the hotel in itself was an experience! Each room is unique and the hallways are filled with interesting artifacts. The staff is extremely polite and helpful, everyone we spoke with spoke English! The breakfast which the hotel offers is also affordable and was very good. The only minor set back is that the walls are a little thin.
"Excellent hotel and good location!!!"

This hotel offers exactly what you want for a long weekend away from home: clean, modernly furnished, pleasant and relaxing, good location and good value for money. I was very pleasantly surprised what it offered for the amount paid. I highly recommend this hotel!!!
"Decent and cheap hotel in excellent upscale area."

In the Charlottenburg region, amidst all the big designer shops, and not far from the Theatre des Westerns, this hotel is inexpensive. A kind of old-world apartment building/hotel look with 4 keys per customer for the entrance, lift, hotel entrance and room. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Hard to find such a good price in Berlin. It's clean, breakfast included, and my room opened to a courtyard and was quiet.
"Basic but nice"

I have just returned from a 4 night break and I found this place to be absolutely fine, if nothing special. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk form S-U Bahn Zoologischer Gardens, or you could take the 109 or 110 bus down Kurfurstendamm, to save the walk. Being just off Ku'damm, there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars around and the area is pleasant and safe. The accommodation is on the 2nd floor and you can either take the stairs or use the lift, which is about 100 years old and an experience in itself. I was met by a very pleasant lady, who spoke decent English and gave me a quick tour of the hotel, explaining that the toilet and bathroom were seperate to my bedroom, which was about 7 feet by 12 feet, in size but with a very high ceiling. There was a wash basin, wardrobe and a cabinet with plenty of room for storage and the window looked out onto an inner area, so it was always qiuet. Fresh towels were supplied and the room well cleaned, each day. You are given 4 keys-1 for the front entrance to the building, 1 for the lift, 1 to get into the hotel on the 2nd floor and 1 key for your room. There is also a safe and you can get another key for that! Beakfast was OK. Not the greatest choice I have ever seen but with the usual cereals, cold meats, bread, cheese and yoghurt. A small pot of coffee was supplied by the receptionist. Overall, a pleasant hotel, in a good area and, if you are not looking for total luxury, a good base from which to explore Berlin, which is such a fantastic city.
"Third time in this lovely homelike Hotel !"

I had earlier visited twice this cozy and nice "home", and spent totally 6 nights, so I knew where to take our company people, when we celebrated Christmas this year in Berlin. The staff has always been friendly, and I love the breakfast room as well as the breakfast itself. You can easily spend a longer time just relaxing and enjoying your breakfast. Rooms are big enough, and quite silent. What I personally like is the height of the rooms, you have air to breath. Do not forget to test the lift/elevator, because it brings you memories, how things used to be in the past. One of the best things about Modena is its location, 50 meters away for Ku'damm, very close to everything, but at the same time away from street noice, because Wielandstrasse is a quiet street. Our flight arrived at Tegel airport, and from there we took bus n:o 109 that took us to Oliverplatz in 19 minutes. From there it is about 150 meters walk to Modena. If you want to go to Mitte, just walk to Savignyplatz, and take S-train to Alexanderplatz.
"Central and good value for money"

Reception staff are very polite and friendly (who said the Germans never smile?) and the hotel is clean and centrally located in a quiet side street. The room was fine, and had a TV, a wardrobe and en suite bathroom, and was very clean and comfortable. The bedding was changed every day and the room thoroughly cleaned too. My room overlooked the courtyard, so I had no noise at all, despite being in the middle of a large city. This hotel is centrally located in a side street just off the main shopping street of Kufurstendamm, just a step away from the luxury goods stores like Prada, Gucci, Hugo Boss and Burberry. There are lots of buses going along the Kufurstendamm, including the number 109 which goes directly to the airport. Otherwise, the hotel is quite a walk (10-15 minutes) from the nearest S-Bahn or U-bahn public transport metros. Overall I'd say it's a good option to stay here, and good value for money.
"Very nice family pansion"

Positive: Very nice family pansion. Big, comfortable room; good breakfast; nice hotel staff; quite place, but near the main streets of the city. Good for shopping, restaurants and walking. Negative: There was no "late check in". Due to emergency reasons (extremely bad weather) we had no chance to check in in the hotel after midnight, hotel staff refused to wait for us, so we had to stay in motel and pay for that night at the hotel anyway. I would recommend this place.
"Historical hotel rare in Berlin"

When I first approached this hotel from outside it gave an air of gloom, cold and darkness, but on entering this large apartment block by which the hotel occupies an small area, I found it to be pleasantly warm, clean and friendly and I took to it immediately. This block was built in 1912 and is still intact through WW2, and was originally a large home to a family. This place reeks of history and if only one could determine what took place here during the 30's, 40's & 50's. I think this place is a gem and doubt there is any other accommodation like it in this city. I will return here anytime when visiting Berlin.

"Hotel Modena- Very Quaint!"

Stayed at this hotel for one week, was sent by work so was told to book the cheapest one I could find, but was pleasantly surprised. Hotel is in a really nice area, lots of eateries and bars nearby- also train station about a five minute walk away. Very clean, good breakfast, nice friendly staff (no tv in my room though!) Overall definately recommended
