"Great!!!"
This is a GREAT little hotel in the heart of the old port. Much better than expected. There was a private party going on so make sure you can eat there if you are planning on it. I was and I couldn't. There are plenty of retains tante in the area though. Bathroom was amazing.

"A too short stay in lovely Montreal"
The hotel is lovely and well situated in the old town. We were able to walk to many places, although we did take a taxi ride up to the Mont, to check out the view. We visited the Museum of Contemporary Art and also the Chateau Ramezay (great costumed docents demonstrating life as it was). We had dinner at Modavi one night, where we enjoyed great music by a local singer and guitarist. I wish we had time for the Museum of Fine Arts also - a day and a half was not nearly long enough to take advantage of all that Montreal offers. Loved wandering around the old town admiring the beautiful buildings, statues and commemorative placques; lots of history here.

"Could be a gem"
Hotel is located in a great area for restaurants, architecture and the feel of Old Montreal. Breakfast was the same each day. The first day it was fine, but there needs to have been variety. My friend had to look for her own teapot and milk was not always by the coffee. Woken up two nights by loud noises from the floor above. Staff was very polite and helpful with any questions. Rooms were a mix of old and updated features. Bathroom had two kinds of shower heads and lights in the shower that would change color. Clients have to be able to walk up stairs to get to rooms.

"Great hotel!"
We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Everyone on the staff was kind, helpful and courteous, without exception. The room was cozy and the bed was the most comfortable one we had during our 1 week Canadian vacation. Loved the rainfall shower as well. It is not a five star resort, it is an old building in the heart of the old city that they very cleverly and tastefully renovated. The breakfast and coffee were delightful. We only had drinks and an appetizer in the hotel restaurant, but those were great as well. There are many choices in the area, but my wife and I would not hesitate to stay here again and we definitely recommend it to others.

"A Haven Amidst the Crowds"
This was our first trip to Montreal and we decided to stay in the Old City, which was a good choice. We were able to walk to everything, which included Mont Royal, the museums, and most importantly Dieu du Ciel, maker of the best beer in Canada. The hotel was a block from the waterfront, so we were able to take an enjoyable run (had to burn off the beer!) It was also around the corner from the Notre Dame Cathedral, so we went there as well. While the area was full of tourists when we arrived on Sunday, the crowds dissipated somewhat by Monday. The hotel, itself, was small, but appeared to be recently (and tastefully) renovated. The bed was comfortable and our room was spacious. My husband loved the "rain shower". The staff was eager to please and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel, particularly if this is your first visit to Montreal.

"Two minutes from Notre Dame church"
Trendy but very comfortable room. Our room opened to St. Paul street and the sounds of the excellent guitar player mixed with the sounds of horses passing will stay with me forever. The food at the restaurant was very good as well as the breakfast offered. The stairs going up to the second floor are steep but the staff will bring suitcases up. Parking is done by staff for $20. Which to me was a blessing in the small cobblestone streets.

"Nice hotel, great old town location"
Trendy hotel with active after hours bar/restaurant, no noise issues. Great location for old town everything close. 1/2 hour walk to Jazz festival/ 5 minutes to Notre Dame. Food was excellent. Staff laid out a nice breakfast complimentary with room. Had issue with small ants in room. Staff had it taken care of by next day/old hotel. No issues with ants noted after that. My family would stay here again, it was our favorite hotel on our recent trip to Quebec/Montreal/Toronto and Ottawa so we stayed in allot.

"Location, location: The Good and the Bad"
The front desk gentlemen were ever so friendly and helpful! They gave their suggestions on where to go and not to go, what to eat, etc. The hotel is located in the heart of Old Montreal - perfect location! Except, as you could imagine, the noise can be loud especially out back on the hotel restaurant's patio. The window faced the patio out back and the rowdy bachelor party stayed out until midnight. The following night, a similar occurrence happened. Bring ear plugs. In addition, the hotel's restaurant had a Mother's day party that Sunday morning and a booked party the previous night. Therefore, guests did not have a place to sit in order to enjoy a drink or dinner. The beds are very comfortable and the rainfall shower is decent. I would suggest this hotel. It is cheaper than the other hotels in the area, however, it was not worth the price. Overpriced for the quality, but priced for the location. Again, bring ear plugs and don't plan to stay at the hotel at night/evening.

"Luxurious historic hotel in Old Montreal"
My husband and 2 children spent 1 night at Hotel Epik, and it was phenomenal from the moment we drove up. They've managed to retain the beautiful historic integrity of the building, yet blend it with upscale amenities. It was the most comfortable bed we've ever stayed in, and the backlit waterfall shower had my kids begging to shower repeatedly. The hosts were funny, helpful, and magnanimous, yet non-intrusive for a small hotel. We wished we were staying more than one night in this luxurious quaint hotel. Magnifique!

"Cute little boutique hotel in a good location"
Hotel Epik is a nice little place in Old Montreal. The staff was very nice and helpful. We didn't take advantage of the complimentary breakfast at all, so I can't speak to that. We were a bit disappointed that the hotel restaurant was closed while we were there. Our room was nice, the shower was great. If you're looking for an excellent meal, check out Dolcetto a few doors down. We liked it so much we went there twice. The hotel looked a lot fancier than it was on the website. It had a lot of cheesy uplighting. It would have looked more rustic without it.

The Hotel Epik was just as charming as the pictures and reviews described and as I was hoping to find. Its location close to all the old town sites and a wonderful, brisk walks to the rest of Montreal's attractions. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the breakfast complete. This is a wonderful boutique hotel. The staff (and we met 5 different people during our stay) was very, very helpful. One of our days was a Monday when all the museums are closed, and they helped us find other things to do. The location was also excellent. "Boutique (10 rooms) in the middle of Old Town"
Pleasant hotel, great staff, esp. Ulrich and Paul. No elevator but they graciously not only stored our bags as we were early, but carried them upstairs and put them in our rooms, after telling us where to go to make good use of our brief amount of time in Montreal. We also brought back food from our dinner which they kept refrigerated overnight and heated up for us the next day for lunch. When we asked him about this, Ulrich said "This is your home while you are here, and you should enjoy your vacation!" The room was modest but clean and adequate with TV, WiFi, comfortable bed, jacuzzi tub/shower, a/c, window to open. What else do we need? Our friends had to leave at 5:45 AM, and they made sure they had coffee available, even tho' breakfast (included) didn't start 'til 6:30.

"Awesome hotel in fabulous location!"
We just returned from our vacation in Montreal and Quebec City; while in Montreal we stayed at Hotel Epik in Old Montreal and couldn't have been happier! First of all, Montreal is a terrific city that has everything you could want. Historic Old Montreal is incredibly quaint and filled with fabulous restaurants (try the Garde Manger - literally around the corner from the Hotel - you won't be disappointed), while the downtown area is a thriving modern city. The hotel's location is perfect - right on Rue Saint Paul, with about a 5 minute walk to Place Jacques Cartier, so it's near everything but just on the edge of the busiest part so there's no problem with street noise while your trying to sleep. The hotel itself is fresh and chic while retaining it's old world charm. The decor expertly blends the timeless stone walls with glass and wood to give a look that's bright and open. Our room was exactly as pictured, with 2 comfortable beds, beautiful stone walls, and a large glass shower. The breakfast was delicious and included Frittata, fresh cheeses and fruits and the most amazing crescents! The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful without being a bit intrusive; they were very knowledgeable about the area and really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Kudos to Paul and the entire staff for a fabulous experience and a first rate hotel.
