"Best place ever!"
I tavel a lot and this is one of the nicest place I ever stayed! Great staff, outstanding rooms and close to downtown Montreal! Out of 10, I give them a 19....yeah, it's that good!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Modern and comfortable new hotel near downtown"
This brand new hotel is built in the latest developing area in Montréal, Griffin Town. A stone throw from downtown, Vieux Montréal and the old Port the area is getting a radical transformation and is fast becoming one of hot and happening neighbourhood. The ALT is part of a chain of similar hotels, all sharing similar characteristics. One of the most […] interesting features is that their rates remain the same all year round, ending the ridiculous practice of most hotels which will raise and reduce prices like a yo-yo! "Great Hotel in Up-and-Coming Neighborhood"
Brand new hotel in an up-and-coming neighborhood in Montreal. It's a hike or a drive from the Plateau district and other sites, but there are a few restaurants scattered nearby. The area appears to be rapidly changing so in a year I would expect more services to be nearby. The hotel was very clean, modern and comfortable. Would definitely recommend […] staying here. "Location is not convenient"
Location is not convenient yet. Too far from the business district for business travelers and too far from Old Montreal for tourists and it's 10 minutes walking to the nearest Metro station.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A pleasing stay"
The hotel is located at an up and coming part of town, so don't expect too much from around the hotel. The check-in is relatively smooth, and parking is at underground with the office block, so a transfer of elevator is needed. The design of the room is ok, but the window is quite small for the room due to the architectural design of the building, and […] the bed maybe a bit tall for Asian travelers. The storage bin under the bed is quite useless, and the lack of kettle in the room or a loaner from front desk. The room layout is quite different but it makes the room feel smaller than it is. The bench inside the bathroom is a nice touch for travelers who likes to change inside the bathroom, but storage space is limited and it is difficult to lay flat more than one 26" suitcase. The wood panles looks awful and fake, but the rest of the room work. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"all around great place"
you get more than you pay for. walking distance to so so much. clean and modern building. staff was super knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and make good suggestions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Happy we stayed here"
We were very happy with ALT Montreal Griffintown. They are an animal friendly hotel which suited us. It is a 15 min walk to both, downtown Montreal and Old Montreal from the hotel. You have the option to pay for unlimited underground parking or park on the street. We parked right across the street from the hotel and left the car there all weekend with […] out incident. There is construction in the area due to the development of condos yet, it did not interfere with the parking or us getting around town. There is no continental breakfast of refrigerators in the room. They do offer free wifi which is great especially if your traveling with out an international data plan. "A wonderful hotel...just be patient as the area up"
We stayed three nights and had a great experience at the Alt. It was spotless and the staff was very helpful. The restaurant next door was very nice, too. Don't miss the outdoor terrace on the 7th floor. We had our own little private cocktail hour there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly, clean, location, but some quirks"
The staff had the perfect demeanor. Extremely kind & helpful staff with plenty charm. At check-in all of my questions about the hotel and Montreal were answered with personal opinions& recommendations sprinkled in. Something I notice more often is a lack of bathroom privacy as these doors didn't lock and the shower glass is see-through giving a clear […] view of both the shower and toilet from the bedroom. "Central Location....great for business travellers"
Good location (up and coming area, somewhat dismal in parts but safe) - close to dining, major roads and very clean hotel - definitely 'no frills' but that is what ALT is all about and that's ok. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice and friendly staffs"
Staffs were extremely helpful and nice. Every touristic attraction is within walking distance, but the surrounding neighborhood seems a bit sketchy (although there's nobody) to roam around at night...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"very nice, modern hotel"
very nice, modern, new hotel. efficient room layouts. perfect for a weekend getaway to montreal. nice up and coming neighborhood.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was in great condition. We were looking for a nice place with possibly free or cheap parking around as we were driving . The hotel was great. About a 10 minute walk to old town/ touristy areas which we did not mind at all. And we found free street parking right across the street for the weekend. Don't think we would have found a better deal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"super nice boutique rooms"
great rooms and very friendly staff - would come again, no doubtGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great stay, hotel is new and modern. A bit far away from from attractions, but had no problem finding free street parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A Very Nice Experience"
I'm occasionally asked to recommend a hotel in Montreal. Since I live in the city, I haven't stayed at any, until now. Our home is without heat and water for about a week, so, attracted by the low introductory rate, I booked us into this new property. The Griffintown area is a huge swath of real estate extending from Old Montreal to the Atwater Market. […] It is being extensively redeveloped with condos replacing crumbling factories and vacant warehouses. In a couple of years, I can imagine the area will be quite vibrant, but for the next little while, expect plenty of dump trucks, heavy equipment, and a lack of community feeling. That said, the hotel has all the conveniences and attention to detail that should make one's stay a very pleasant experience. The furnishings are very modern, the room is a bit small but extremely comfortable, and the staff is outstanding! As a bonus, free street parking can still be found close to the property. The location, once you get over the constant construction in the area, is perfect for tourists, just minutes from Old Montreal, the Lachine Canal, and a short walk to downtown. I already made a reservation at the hotel for someone visiting the city in July, and have zero hesitation in recommending the Alt Montreal Griffintown. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great - Location - Area still developing"
First time staying in ALT hotels. Stayed in Brossard and in Griffintown. I like the ALT hotel concept - nice rooms, comfortable rooms - hip retro look. Griffintown is great because it is in the middle of downtown and Old Montreal.... however it looks like Griffingtown is up and coming area - with a lot of abandoned buildings, or brand new construction.. […] But that is minor. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Modern, clean hotel - right downtown"
I spent one night at the Alt hotel. It was spotless, and comfortable. Wireless internet worked great - no password required - everything was in perfect working condition. A great place for business travellers.Genuine Expedia guest review

"In Montreal downtown"
Excellent experience, very clean n modern looking room, staff were professional n very friendly. There are a couple of restaurants/bars in this building. I found this to be a great deal considering the location, price and quality.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Room for non-shaving business person with a car"
Car park a challenge to get to but excellent parking and cheap for Montreal. Modern i.e. dark, lots of concrete, see-through shower. Room only suited for one person ... small bed; one pod each tea, coffee, decaf. Light was poor for shaving. WAS THERE ACTUALLY A PLASTIC SHEET OVER THE MATRESS?? Very hot uncomfortable night, I couldn't remove sheets to […] find out. Further refreshments/snacks available in lobby at reasonable price ;) Good points ... could hook up laptop to TV; reasonably short walk to waterfront; a reasonable restaurant next door but didn't do breakfast. "Nice hotel, lousy location"
Hotel was nice but was in a dodgy part of town; would not have felt safe accessing it by public transit. Parking is outrageous at nearly 25$/night. Room was nice but small and the peekaboo shower meant that it wasn't a good room for sharing with friends or family. Price was alright per night and staff was friendly but I would not stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect hotel for a visit to old Montreal"
We easily walked to all the great places to see in the old city from the hotel. The perfect visit to a great city!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Brilliant Gem Hotel on Peel in Griffintown"
An instant favourite. A brilliant new hotel at the edge of Old Montreal. Sleek Euro-modern rooms with superior mattresses, duvet and pillows. Friendly front desk staff. Simply delightful. Impeccable restaurants in 10 minute walk. Cycle paths close by.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing hotel, staff amazing, Just a great trip"
Staying in the ALT, for Osheaga music festival 2014. Staff was amazing and so helpful. Arranged cabs, subway directions better than those of google maps, great restaurant recommendations. Rooms were beautiful, very modern, comfortable and pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Super view of Montreal Skyline"
Good choice as long as the location works for you, its some what out of the way. Its presently in the middle of multiple construction sites so beware and get as high a floor as possible (great views). Reception was helpful in getting a restaurant reservation for us. Only real complaint was housekeeping knocking on our door at 8:10 am on our check-out […] day, they need to think about that and figure it out! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for getting to Old Montreal"

"New contemporary hotel"
We chose this hotel because it was so conveniently located close to the Bell Centre, where we were attending a concert. The hotel appears to be quite new and it's design is very contemporary, in a modern-minimalist style, which really appealed to us. Young, hip staff. Clean, functional rooms with cool contemporary furnishings, glass enclosed shower […] and hi-tech lighting. We were only there for one night, so we didn't have time to explore the hotel amenities, but we had a very pleasant experience overall and would not hesitate to book a room at this "hip" new hotel the next time we are in Montreal. The neighborhood is clearly in transition - formerly industrial, now being gentrified with new condo buildings all around. A short walk to St. Catherine for shopping and restaurants. "Close to Old Montreal & Exceptional Service"
The room was nice and cosy and clean. The staff made sure we had clean towels every day, while the reception was warm and their willingness to help with Montreal whereabouts was refreshing. We needed to know where the closest sports bar was for Wimbledon finals and they not only found us a couple of place but printed out the directions to another restaurant […] we would be visiting that night as well. The warm reception made all the difference but the hotel itself was modern, clean and went beyond expectations. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, a little off the beaten track"
Hotel is new, clean and comfortable with basic amenities. Staff is great, always friendly. Although downtown, it is a bit out of the way from the main downtown sites and shopping, and it's in an up and coming industrial area that is being regentrified into condos, cafés, and urban shops. Still walkable though (to St Catherines Street or Old Port Montreal […] in about 20 min for example). Would stay there again for sure. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"New Modern Hotel in Griffin Town"
Nice hotel. Very new. Lovely friendly staff that were helpful. Great balcony on 7th floor though did not know about this. Couldn't find the ice machines - maybe i was blind. But overall a great and comfortable stay. Bathroom amenities ie shampoo, lotion etc were great. Hair was nice and soft after using the conditioner. Free wifi. There is a restaurant […] attached to the hotel for convenience. But hotel seemed to be in a isolated area.... but I stayed on a long weekend stay, so maybe the folks were out of town. Hotel is actually on a main street but just out of the city area so feels away from the hussle and bussle of life. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very modern, clean hotel, loved it!"
We loved our stay at the Alt. It was modern, clean, trendy and we loved the decor. We're also into cycling and it was close to the biking paths so we were on the paths within 15 seconds. It was also close to Old Montreal (about a 10-15 min walk) and close to Saint Catherines St for shopping. We would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hip Up and Comer"
This was my first time staying at Hotel ALT. The room was very clean and even though the offering was just basics, it made me realize how much I seldom use in-room amenities (like the mini-bar).The hotel staff were all very kind and helpful with minor requests. The only short-coming is the location. Griffintown is still growing and developing, so there […] is not much a stone's throw from the hotel. It's about an 8-10 minute walk either north (to Griffintown) or east to Old Montreal for places to eat and shop. There is a West Elm across the street for any travelers looking for home goods. I'm confident that once Griffintown is complete and there's more stores/services, this will be the perfect weekend getaway. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel. Close to Old Montreal/Downtown"
Check in was quick, the front desk person was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is relatively new - having opened in the last few months. Everything was clean and well done. The design of the hotel is a bit modern and urban, though simple and elegant.Genuine Expedia guest review
Awesome! Very noisy neighbours until the wee hours, but not the hotel's fault (I didn't bother calling down with a complaint). Hotel staff were wonderful, there's a Starbucks in the building, and this is in a new, up and coming neighbourhood. Trendy, beautiful rooms and super comfy beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was the best room I have stayed in for some time: clean, modern, the most comfortable hotel bed ever, great bathroom. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I will be staying here again in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was brand-new and in excellent condition. The decor and room itself were very nice. I would likely stay here again, a short walk to downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
