"Fine for a short stay"

I stayed here for 1 night between flights and it was easy to find, fairly comfortable and very clean. The wifi was patchy and kept dropping out for me, also didn't quite reach my room. Good communal area with DVDs and tv. Central location with good transport links. Staff don't speak English very well but we got by. Would stay again!
"Except for the bed"

Stayed here for a few hours last night. What I like about the staff is that they are willing to accommodate as much as possible. I sent them an email prior to arrival and told them that I may check in late (arrival is 1155pm). Instead of the 11am checkout, they emailed me that I can extend up to 2 or 3pm before checking out. But I had to check out as I had to go somewhere from Bangkok. As for the room, it was nice enough. Nice duvet that serves it purpose, the ac is working well, the toilet is clean. The bed however, is a bit hard. The place is also near 7 eleven, bars in soi 2 and 4, and the market. Overall, everything's great except for the bed.
"Wasn't what I expected"

I stayed here for two nights after participating in a program in Bangkok. I wanted somewhere affordable to stay. Hq hostel is not difficult to find... In fact is it right in the middle of the financial area... And the other side is already the night life... However, the impression of the pictures and the reality is very different. I was expecting the reception to be at ground floor... Hahahaha... Another thing is the room for 10 is way too crowded if it is full.. My first night, there were only 4 of us... But on the 2nd night there were 9 of us and the place was pack.... It is still a nice place to stay.... Another thing is the washroom... When I saw shared washroom, I thought that it will be gender separated... But it's not... Hahaha... Well... If you are the kind of person that just need a place to rest your body before continuing your travel... This is a good place, but it's not for luxury...
"Good quiet hostel"

Great place for first night, hostel is quiet as it's in centre of financial district, different view of Bangkok - sky train is very useful for travelling and so cheap. Can get taxi/tuk tuk to Khaosan for a few quid or sky train and a boat up the river which is amazing and must be done!
"I liked it!"

The hostel has acceptable condintions. I went there with my friends, so we took a room for 10 people (actually, we are nine). For our group, the room is quite small, but it doesn't matter a lot. The room was clean, the beds are a little bit rigid, the baths are clean and its also more than one box. If you ask at the reception, they could provide laundry service for you, which is nice when you are on a long trip (pay attention to their prices). Furthermore, you have many 7 Elevens at the hostel's block, you have public transport near and also hospital near (2 of our friends had to go to hospital to take vaccines). I think that it was good value for money. I recommend!
"Great hostel in good location"

I have stayed at HQ many times over a number of years. I always come back because it is reliable, cheap, clean, secure, excellent wifi and has friendly staff. And a short walk from the BTS station. A bonus is that it is usually not overcrowded with a million backpackers like on Khao San Road

nice and not big hostel. within walk distance from silom mrt, sala daeng bts, and patpong night life. all is clean and comfy, but the room is too small for 4 person. but over all is good hostel. recommended!
"More than adequate"

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Not brilliant but more than adequate. The room was clean, the beds were quite comfy and it was reasonably quiet. The place had a bit of wear and tear but overall it was good value for money.
Good if hostel is what you are looking for. The location and staff is nice. We liked the 6 beds room better than the 10 beds one. The shared bathroom was clean all the time. They issue you with keys, and towels. They also have a fridge full of drinks to buy. I would have preferred to stay in a hotel, but with a big group and savings in mind, this place works well.
"Great, as usual"

It was my fourth visit to Bangkok and my fourth visit to HQ Hostel. Since my first visit I have not even bothered to look around, HQ is still a fantastic find in Bangkok! The staff are friendly. The air conditioning is good. The bathrooms are very clean! The beds are comfortable. The rooms are quiet and peaceful. The nightlife starts about three minutes' walk away. The skytrain is only a few minutes' walk away. And the library and PCs allow for ample research on what to do and where to go, and of course those all-important contacts back home on email, facebook, and so on if you don't have a smart phone! I'll still return there, it's a great place to base yourself in Bangkok. I definitely recommend HQ!
