"nice and clean but small room"
Overall a very pleasant stay. I got the "executive" room with a balcony overlooking a quiet street. However, the room was tiny with only a bit of space to walk around the bed. I'd still say it's a very good choice given the price and location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No service whatsoever"
The hotel is located in a very nice area of madrid, and the rooms are well designed and furnished, however there is virtually no service in this hotel, literally only one person is available in the entire establishment. This issue is compounded by the fact that a min bar menu is provided in the room, but nothing is actually available in the room, you […] have to go all the way to the front desk to ask for a soda or bottle of water, the one person working in the entire hotel then leaves the front desk goes to some store room and gives you the coke, its quite absurd. There is also an incredible amount of noise for anyone staying in any room within the court yard. The building and interiors are very nice, but I would not really consider this a hotel, you are more or less on your own. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely hotel, near the Prado"
New hotel in a renovated old building. Lovely street views, very comfortable room and shower. Friendly staff speak English. The location is just a few minutes walk to the Prado, since the hotel is located on a small side street that connects to the Paseo del Prado. Very clean, beautiful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Well executed hotel, in a great area with friendly staff at a very good priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Top notch location, cleanliness but the room is rather small and the walls are very thin.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent that's all there is too it"
I would stay here time after time. Excellent location and great rooms. The rainbow shower is worth the money alone. Nothing too much effort for the staffGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stylish and clean in nice neighbourhood"
The hotel has just been completed (April 2014) so everything was brand new and in mint condition, and also always perfectly clean. The staff are very friendly and happy to help/give recommendations. The rooms are comfy and stylish, only negative is the lack of space to hang or place something in the bathroom or shower. Very nice restaurants/cafes in […] the same street, nicely located in between city centre, Retiro Park and the stylish Salamanca shopping area.
Emplacement parfait. Accueil très agréable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic hotel in a fantastic location"

Ok, this is not a Hilton but then again it's not trying to be one. This hotel "marches to it's own beat". It has a young energetic staff who will always go out of there way to help. It has an artistic flavor that I found refreshing. It also has the finest in-room shower I have ever had, anywhere in the World. The only time I've had one equal to it I was in a $1,000 a nite Aria Skysuite in Las Vegas!! In addition they have a mini-bar system that I wish EVERY other hotel would emulate. They give you an empty, relatively large, in-room mini fridge and a "menu" of reasonably priced item you can order delivered to your mini fridge as needed. The idea is simply brilliant! Get your own or use theirs without being ripped-off! The room layout is unorthodox with the bathroom the point of entry and minimal case goods for storage but I grew to see the logic behind almost everything. I had a suite and it was excellent. I understand the regular rooms are more tiny but this hotel is a jewel!! Great cafes 30-100 yrds up the street and the French Embassy is 40 yards away. A+

It is a nice (and I guess recently completely renovated) concept hotel, with a extreme friendly service, in the heart of Madrid. I would like to recommend it as it is great value for a very reasonable price.
This hotel was friendly and very clean and superbly located for the retiro park and the grand via and most of the main city sites within walking distance, don't be afraid to use taxis in Madrid as very keenly priced, we arrived at the main station and were met by the hotels driver ( extra and not worth the money) whisked to the hotel painless check in we had room 2007 a inside facing room to the loverly courtyard not the quietist room I've been in but clean and light , large beds and tv and a large walk in rain shower. We walked to the park and had a pleasant stroll before dinner, the next street to the hotel is calle recloletos full of bars and cafés, at the other side of the hotel is the culture center which has a great sky bar for cocktails enjoy we did
"2 days in Madrid"

Picked this by a quick review on TA. To be honest its all pretty much as the other reviewers say, although the sign outside says that it is a 3 star. !st the location is brilliant. I came on the bus from the Airport (5E), which stops about 150 metres away, everywhere is within 15 mins walking, Prado, Retiro etc. About a 20 minute walk to Puerta Del Sol too. The comment about the shower is true, they have a shower big enough for 2 with a rainforest sprinkler, but you have to put your shampoo etc on the floor ? There is a very strange room service which is not really room service. There is an empty fridge (with no ice in mine) and you are supposed to call down and order what you want and they will bring it up... ? Inevitably you will buy beer and water from the street and use the empty fridge I think. Staff were great, very friendly, happy to store bags etc after checking out, and they were helping 2 ladies check in online for their return flight whilst I was getting my bag. I would be 100% certain to check in to this place again. I loved Madrid, shame we went out of the world cup on the night I checked in !! Very nice Irish Bar (James Joyce) just round the corner by the way...
"Terrible! Don't go!"

We stayed in this "wonderful" place for 3 nights having booked and paid for 5. The reason for choosing the hotel was washer/dryer being described as part of the room inclusions - washer turned out to be an arrangement with a local laundry ( 2.45 euro for a pair of underpants !), and dryer - a hair dryer! "Executive" room that we booked was about 10 centimetres bigger than the standard room. The rooms are ridiculously small for a 4 star, you walk in straight into the vanity, no shelf in the shower to place soap or shampoo. The bedside table is absolutely useless, no draws. God forbid you bring two suitcases with you - only. one will fit in, but on the small table"! Put the second one one floor and you are locked inside your "executive" room. The hot water ran out one day in the morning....never to be fixed that day. That was the last straw and we moved to an equally, if not better, located hotel, at exactly the same rate, which was like a Rolls Royce compared to a Toyota.
Great location, could not be better. The hotel is nice, but rooms are rather small for a 4 star. Still, decoration is great, beds and shower are super nice and staff is very helpful and polite. Wifi is also good. The breakfast is not buffet and does not have many selection choices, but is good quality. On the downside, cleanses is not the best. I stayed for 4 days and my linen and towels were not changed. Plus the bedside table were dusty in the last few days. Another thing, is that hotel does not have cable tv and English channels, which is not acceptable for a 4 stars hotel. Hotel is a good price/quality ratio, specially because of the location which is superb!
"Transferred here by its sister hotel, very happy with stay"

As its sister hotel, One Shot 55, had made an error with our booking, we were transferred to this hotel instead at no extra cost. The staff made a great effort with us and upgraded us to a high floor room with balcony due to the inconvenience caused. We were very happy with the hotel, wonderfully located, friendly staff, decent air con system which meant we did not have to open the windows at night. My only small issue is the noise of the fridge / mini-bar which for a light sleeper is a bit annoying at night and could be sorted out. But aside from that, very happy to have been transferred here.

This place has it all: modest decor, right old building feel, good breakfast, location, quietness and all at a reasonable price. Loved it. They preserved the old staircase but remodeled the rooms...good call. The staff is nice and friendly but not too much!

"Nice Hotel in good location of Madrid and easy to get to from Train Station"
05/11/14 CodyDC Washington, DC
To be honest, I was hesitant on booking this hotel when looking for hotel somewhat near the Atocha train station as at the time, there was no prior reviews on TripAdvisor. I found the hotel on Booking.com where it was listed for hotels in the same area of another hotel that I was looking into. This hotel has a great price and was cheaper than the other hotels I was considering and after doing some researched learned that the hotel was new, thus the lack of reviews on TripAdvisor. So I went ahead and booked the hotel and was not disappointed. The hotel was easy to reach from Atocha - just catch the suburban train and get off at the Recoletos station and walk south (towards the Plaza de Cibeles) about 2 blocks to the street that the hotel is located on. You can also catch the suburban train to the airport. I liked the location of the hotel (in previous stays in Madrid, I stayed near the Opera/Puerta del Sol locations. The hotel is about 5 min walk to the Puerta de Alcala (and entrance to Retiro Park) and Palacio de Cibeles. Both have great night time photo opportunities. There is also a Hop-on/Hop-off bus stop near the hotel if interested in the sightseeing bus tour. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to Puerta del Sol or the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza Art museums. You are also close to the Metro stations as well. The hotel itself was pretty interesting in decor. It was clean and modern. It was a little odd that when you walk into the room first thing you have is the bathroom sink, but that was ok for me. The hotel had free wifi with no bandwidth restrictions and experienced no issues. The room was big enough for me, wasn't in the room very much. I did love the Rain Shower, it was awesome. Only comment would be that shelf would be good to place soap and shampoo on. The hotel had no breakfast services, but there were cafes close by (like around the Puerta de Alcala) for something to eat or coffee. I would recommend this hotel
