"Good for the price"
Great location, great single private rooms for alone travelers - really good for price. However, beware, the location indicated on the map on this website is wrong. The hotel is actually north of Diagonal Ave.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

55 € for a 6 meter room, with two small old bed. The photo of the romm from expedia are false. It was not possible to shut down the heater (25°C in the room) Nice location but too expensive for this kind of serviceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Charming hostel- great location"

I stayed at Casa Gracias for 3 nights. Out of all the hostels that I stayed in during my trip, this was probably my favorite. I was upgraded to a private room that I only had to share with one other person. We had our own bathroom and outlets above our bed. The staff was very friendly and always willing to answer my questions. The only downside to the stay, was that there was no air conditioning in our room and it was miserably warm. There was a unit in the room, but it was not on, nor was anyone else that I talked with. The location is also great. A 4 minute walk to the metro, but a lot of attractions were in walking distance from the hostel. WiFi worked great as well.
The building is truly spectacular and encapsulates Catalan architecture! I and several friends stayed in a private '5 bed room', the accommodation was clean minimalist and sufficiently equipped to make our stay comfortable. Toiletries were replenished daily (as were fresh towels) and we were thankful for the provision of an air conditioning unit as well as hot showers! Staff manning the reception and concierge desk were friendly, welcoming and helpful; on one occasion contacting FC Barcelona on our behalf to eliminate the language barrier. Do not be mistaken however: during our stay, it became obvious that regardless of the hostels rather steep price tag- in comparison to others within the city- Casa Gracia attracts the young, outgoing and open minded type- (plagued by wanderlust). The common areas remain to be frequented by guests until the early hours of the morning, as does the 24hour front desk, the building, furnishings and those that reside in it create a lively and atmospheric experience. 2 minutes away (turn left out of the hostel doors and continue down Passeig De Gracia) is the nearest metro 'Diagonal' allows easy access to the beachfront, la rambla and Montjuic, where the funicular railway can be used as part of a single trip. Similarly, there are several small supermarkets located at the top of of the street (turn right out of the hostel entrance, up the road and on your left) one remaining open until 2am, in addition to a 24hr mini market a couple of blocks away- ask reception staff for more details, they'll be happy to help! All in all a pleasurable experience within a hostel that catered for the needs of a young traveling group. Yet in spite of this, perhaps for those that are seeking a family friendly environment, it may be worth paying that little extra to stay in a nearby hotel.

I spent only the first night of my trip in a private room here, since my friends and I were planning on sleeping all day to beat the jet lag. What ended up happening was a night I'll never remember, all thanks to how awesome this hostel is! We were greeted by very friendly staff members who checked us in early and were very helpful with their suggestions and directions. 40 outside beers, a bottle of wine and lots of ham, we were ready to mingle. Made lots of friends here on the terrace, which was very nice and spacious. There was a pop up bar at night, with dinner served, but I didn't partake. I saw a customer vomit on a wall at 4 am and by the time I checked out at 10 am the next day, it was gone! Very prompt cleanup! The next day when we checked out, we were allowed to check our bags (our flight was at 7pm). We came back to Barcelona at the end of our trip, and really regretted not coming back. It was in a prime location, and the terrace was too good to beat. The breakfast was pretty wack though. This place gets a 4/5, and only because my boy and I (who were under the weight limit) had the elevator stop with us in it, causing a bit of embarrassment.

We found this hostel to be very good. The facilities are exceptional and the advice and service from the staff was also good. The breakfast we really good and quite extensive (for a hostel). The hostel had a great social vibe, but I would go as far as to say it was "party hostel". The wifi worked fine. The back terrace is gorgeous but has to close early due to noise. They pay attention to the small things that make travelling easier. Clean showers etc are important (and they we're clean) but their large, well equipped kitchen was impressive. They had individual lights at each bed as well as electricity points which makes life better in a hostel. Plenty of hooks for clothes etc also helps but an in house laundry facility would make the hostel even better. The location is north of the touristy area, but it's walkable and the area around the hostel is better in my opinion as it's more authentic. All up I would definitely recommend this hostel.
"Ok hostel, north of all of the sites in Barcelona"

This hostel is located in Gracia, in the Northern end of the city. It is close to a lot of Gaudi's greatest sites and a great way to explore to the high end shops, but it is definitely quite a walk to La Ramblas and the beach. While it can be walked, it would take you awhile so the metro might be easier. I stayed in a superior double room and the room was lovely. It was so pretty. There was lots of room and it looked exactly like the pictures. (The only downside was that the room had not been cleaned when I first checked in and found this out when I went up and found that there was garbage and old toothbrushes still in the room. I pointed this out and the staff cleaned it right away) The air conditioning worked great in the room. The wifi signal was very poor and the connection was spotty. It did work well on the main level however in the common areas. Because my room faced the street, I definitely could hear street noise so I slept with ear plugs which definitely helped. It was only my drunk neighbours who came home at 3:30am every night that really disturbed me. The walls are very thin here, but you are at a hostel so you have to manage your expectations about people you are staying with and the construction of the building.
"Jumpstart your holiday!"
Casa Gracia definitely made my Barcelona trip amazing ! From the first night I landed and dropped my bags, to the morning I left, I met a ton of great people who helped make great stories. The staff were hugely instrumental in crafting out a fun holiday. Its a big hostel, with plenty of craic. It was so easy to just stay and hangout there despite all the excitement outside. They were both helpful when we were in search of fun and equally helpful when I lost my phone. I liked the terrace too with a free coffee machine and sofas&couches. The room I had was on the top floor and very quiet and very private, with an ensuite. Highly recommended for both siesta and recuperating from the Catalan madness. Its also close to some authentic Catalan barrios. One beef was maybe buying boosters to strengthen the wifi signal to the higher floors.

stayed in a private room with my 5 friends and there were no complaints. they offered a free breakfast, it wasn't the best, but it was free, which was awesome! the bed were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms as well, except that I had trouble closing the showeer door, which made the bathroom floor all wet.but the rooms were huge with a lot of space. the kitchen and the common rooms were also great as we could meet new different people from around the world. plus, they provided entertainment. Loved this hostel which was in the middle of this great big city!

I stayed here for one night and it was a great way to ease into the hostel experience. We had a 6 bed suite for 5 of us. We had our own private bathroom with towels provided. They have a "pop-up" bar which was available in the evening to purchase drinks; it looked pathetic. They were very lenient on bringing your own alcohol onto the terrace. They had a standard free breakfast with toast, meat, cheese and fruit. It was a clean hostel, had friendly staff, and was right on the subway line. My only complaints were the lack of lockers/security and weak wifi in the bed rooms.

Stayed in a Private Room with 4 of my friends and it was great. The room was extremely clean/spacious, beds were comfortable and we had our own washroom that included a shower. No complaints. The rest of the hostel was great. They offered a mediocre breakfast (free of charge) in the morning, there was a huge outdoor terrace where we were able to crush a ton of cerveza and the atmosphere at night is good. Didn't have any issues with the location, there is a Subway stop across the street and it's only 1 or 2 stops to La Rambla. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My buddy thought Gummy was a real looker. I would definitely recommend this hostel. The only complaint I have was that the Wifi signal in the room was terrible; I could only get a strong connection in the lobby.

Fantastic hostel!! Great facilities and awesome rooms. This hostel almost seemed on par with a hotel. The ensuites on the bedrooms are fantastic and I loved the fact that my room did not have bunk beds!! For the price I paid I was pretty satisfied with everything. A very nice change to some of the other hostels I've stayed in.
